Elizabeth Warren: Universal Child Care for Every Baby Age 0 to 5
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D.-Mass.) said at a town hall in Los Angeles on Wednesday that she would like to see federally funded universal child care for “every baby in this country” from birth to five years of age.

Warren would pay for that program, and others, by imposing a two-percent tax on the wealth of people whom she describes as being the top “one-tenth of one percent.”

“All we’re saying is, when you make it to the top, the top of the top, the top of the top of the top—one-tenth of one percent-- pitch in two cents so everybody else gets a chance to make it in America,” Warren said. ...

Jim got his “facts” discombobulated once again.

In 1971, only about 32 percent of all Americans enjoyed air conditioning in their homes. By 2001, 76 percent of poor people had air conditioning. In 1971, only 43 percent of Americans owned a color television; in 2001, 97 percent of poor people owned at least one. In 1971, 1 percent of American homes had a microwave oven; in 2001, 73 percent of poor people had one. Forty-six percent of poor households own their homes. Only about 6 percent of poor households are overcrowded. The average poor American has more living space than the average non-poor individual living in Paris, London, Vienna, Athens and other European cities.
Nearly three-quarters of poor households own a car; 30 percent own two or more cars. Seventy-eight percent of the poor have a VCR or DVD player; 62 percent have cable or satellite TV reception; and one-third have an automatic dishwasher.

Jim, didn't you learn anything from the poll go-round in 2016?

Oh, if I had a child between 0-5 yrs, I would tell Fake-a-hontas stay well away from my baby. And keep the rest of her village idiot friends away as well.

You say she's always thinking? Then why is she socialist? Thinking and socialism are mutually exclusive.

My wife and listened to a sermon from the 1950s on that verse posted here on SA. The preacher explained that the way God usually does that is thru hard work, not government socialist programs. In fact, that is how the Lord typically operates. He doesn't have to, of course, but He chooses to work thru people...no matter if they have faith in Him or not. Everyone has a purpose in God's economy.
As for the socialist voice on this forum, I've seen stats recently that show that the rich aren't getting richer at the poor's expense, but that the poor are getting richer as well.
Perfectly said! And just let me add the following rhetorical question:

The more someone is given of this world, the more they are likely to love this world. So, when our Lord provides for our necessities, but does not give us abundance, is He loving us less than more?

Thanks as always Lady Virtue! I hope you are doing well and the Lord is blessing your walk with Him.

On another thread I put up hey URL for an article that explained how the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Lizzy is just trying to find several ways on how to fix that. Now that article was from Fox and 2016 but it still accurate, all except the spread probably has gotten wider.

Anyway, Lizzie's always thinking. Oh, Biden, her, and Sanders are said in recent polls that they could beat Trump in an election.

If Madame Warren cannot do basic math, there is no way she should be signing off on our national budget. A person worth fifty billion dollars would not “pitch in two cents” as she put it. He or she would PITCH IN A BILLION DOLLARS, and that’s just for one year’s worth of babysitting (read: indoctrinating) somebody else’s children. A bad plan all around.

Great comments Frank and Douglas Fir. When women aren't following God's will, much trouble ensues.

If it's not your child you shouuldnt be forced to pay one cent for it regardless of wealth status. The responsibility of caring for a child falls on the parent. Charity giving is acceptable and biblical when needed, but force?! Nope.

Besides the verses you used, there are many other in the Bible that give guidelines with respect to families. A pastor could build a whole set of sermons based on them, and never be accused of being wrong. But people would be upset with him, especially when it comes to the verses in First Timothy Ch. 5 about "God's Will for the Older Christian Woman." In fact, he probably would not want to preach that chapter because it would upset many older Christian women in the church who are not living in accordance with this chapter, and families who are not caring for their widows.

Yes, Frank, you have pointed out what many many churches seem to forget--God's plan is for women to be in family, and Paul's first letter to Timothy, chapter 5, talks about God's Plan for the Older Christian Woman. First, we note that she is a widow, meaning she was married at some point and her husband died. I don't see any room given for single women here, and if we think of today's society, I've read that 96 percent of people get married. Second, Paul tells Timothy that the widow's family should take care of her. If they cannot, then the church should help her, provided she has met certain 'work requirements' like doing good works, washing the feet of the saints. Younger widows should get married and raise children.
It is amazing how many problems in today's society can be solved by having these guidelines followed.
Thanks and yes it appears we are in agreement. I might go further by saying the world is being run by women now and that includes the churches and the families.

For any naysayers that read this and disagree, let me say this is a general truth; not a truth in every case.

Women politicians are feminists on steroids! They are thumbing their noses at the God of the bible and accepting their cultural/political god.

Children should be raised and nurtured by their mother. The fact that their lifestyles may be lowered is not a legitimate issue. Warren’s position is simply saying; “it is okay for moms to go out and work” instead of staying home and doing their God ordained roles as wives and mothers.

Titus 2:5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Proverbs 22:6 - Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Hillary’s infamous statement “it takes a village” is being played out.
