Assemblies of God Elects First Woman to Top Leadership Team
For the first time in its 105-year history, the Assemblies of God (AG) General Council has elected a woman to its executive leadership. Ohio minister Donna Barrett was voted in as AG general secretary during its biennial gathering last Friday.

Barrett had been appointed to the post last year—the third-highest position in the denomination—after her predecessor resigned in the middle of his term. She is now both the first woman to fill a seat on the AG’s six-person executive leadership team and the first woman elected by its ministers to such a position for a four-year term.

As general secretary for a denomination that claims 3.2 million adherents and over 13,000 churches in the US, Barrett oversees the credentialing of ministers, church chartering, church statistics, and the world’s largest Pentecostal archive, located at AG national headquarters in Springfield, Missouri. ...

It's what one would expect ❗👎

You’ve probably heard of a single church being taken over by an individual or group from within. But have you ever heard of an entire network of churches within a denomination being taken over? As unprecedented as that may sound, that is exactly what appears to be happening now in the Assemblies of God (AG) denomination in Northern California and Nevada.
....
... now BSSD is dispatching, into AG churches, pastors who have been molded theologically by Bethel Church — a church theologically at odds with the AG. This is a brilliant strategy for penetrating and taking over a denomination: seize the hearts of a whole generation of denominational pastors, give them networks of similarly envisioned people from the get-go, and you get more than just a few churches – you gain access to an entire network and denomination....

The Roman Catholic crime syndicate is going against the Bible in many different ways, JY, and yet you insist on embracing it as “Christian.”

The Assemblies of God is going against the Bible for having women ordained as ministers.

Difficult bunch, that AOG. They believe that becoming saved "entitles" a person to a Holy Spirit baptism and that speaking in tongues is the initial evidence for said Holy Spirit baptism. Those are two of their sixteen main points of doctrine. I've got a problem with those points as that's not what my Bible says. 1 John 4:15 says believers are endowed with the Holy Spirit. I do believe that speaking in tongues is a key component to a Holy Spirit baptism, but that tongue for most of us is English and asking the Lord to accept us on His own merits and to forgive us of our sins. Ephesians 2:8-9 applies.

If a group is going to accept those points, accepting female national leadership isn't outside the scope.

Greetings, Brother Frank. Feminists are perfectly fine with women choosing to do anything and everything--except submitting themselves to God and obeying Scripture.
Amen sister! And thanks for giving such excellent examples. They simply seek liberation from their God given roles.

Yes, I have always said that the real war against women is when society seeks to make them relevant in ways that God didn't intend for them.

And as most know, the beginning was when Eve ate the apple.

Liberalism!!!

A woman in charge again???

The thing that these poor ladies haven't seen is that the modern religion of Liberalism actually has insulted womenkind.

For thousands of years the churches were Biblical and thus Christian.

Then Christianity morphed into Liberalism in the nominal churches
In Christianity the ladies stayed out of the pulpits in accordance with the Bible.

In Liberalism the ladies replaced men in the pulpit and leadership.
Hence the unChristian churches lost the true Bible believing faith and women were heretically placed in the godless position of preaching.

Thus only when Liberalism became the 'ideology' of these churches were women 'promoted' to this unBiblical position.

In Christian churches the congregation obeyed God and His Word.

Poor women!!

I don't agree with denominations, and I do not agree with the doctrines of the AOG churches, and I most certainly believe they have made a fundamental error in this instance. In other words, you won't find me ever attending an AOG church, no matter where in the world it is.

The CHARISMATIC MOVEMENT Is Dangerous Because...

6. It encourages women to forsake their God-given place in the home and in the Church. This results in disorderly homes and disorderly churches with women assuming places of leadership in direct violation of the Word of God. It is strange, inconsistent and sad to hear Charismatics using the fourteenth chapter of First Corinthians to justify speaking in tongues as a gift of the Spirit for our day when that very same chapter says plainly "Let your women keep silence in the churches... " (1Corinthians 14:34). To countermand God's command to women is dangerous -- for women, for the home and for the Church....

The Assemblies of God church is charismatic.
