Anti-porn advocates not surprised by Dayton shooter's penchant for sexual violence, 'pornogrind'
The connection between the use and celebration of sexually violent porn and a mass shooting is not surprising for those who work to expose the harms of pornography and the social ills to which it contributes.

"Consuming pornography certainly plays a supporting role in men committing violence against women. That is because pornography creates in the mind of the viewer what sociologists call 'permission giving beliefs,'” Laila Mickelwait, director of abolition at Exodus Cry, a prostitution abolitionist organization in the Kansas City area of Missouri, said in an email to The Christian Post Tuesday.

Such beliefs give "permission" to act out when it comes to sexual intrusion, assault and rape, she explained, citing the work of Michael Milburn, Roxanne Mather, and Sheree Conrad, whose findings show that males who were shown scenes that sexually objectified and degraded women and were then exposed to ...

I wasn't sure where to post this up, but Jeffry Epstein was just found dead in his jail cell in Manhatten.

He had been on suicide watch, and commiting suicide in a jail cell with little to nothing to do it with, and certainly nothing that would have made it a quick and easy job, speaks to his desperation...if it was in fact a suicide.

While I wouldn't deny anyone can be saved right before their death, I would think that most who do pray, and cry out immediately beforehand, after a lifetime of Christ-rejecting, do it as a failsafe; as a, just in case it's all true, afterall, type of thing.

Too bad...

Instead of giving heed to what some minor feminist group has to say about this issue, it is better for Christians to point to our Bible as our guide.
Just looking at I Timothy 5:5 and 5:6 (from the Online Bible tool available here at S.A.)
5:5 Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.

5:6 But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.

I would point out how many widows in today's society are living according to verse 6, seeking pleasures in travels, restaurants, shopping, etc.

The other verses of this chapter have a lot of guidelines for Christian families dealing with widows and how the church is to deal with them. It is obvious to any reader that this shows an entire system to be followed. As Christians we need to be reminded that we are not of this world.

Absolutely horrible. When the courts decided to not prosecute pornagraphic companies , this began after Ed Meese ended his tenure as Director of Justice. We are supposedly to the endgame of prosecuting pornagraphy in the area of violating children . As many countries are reducing child predator convictions by lowering their consent laws to 15-14 years of age. I am sickened and see no difference from our nation or world than that of ancient Israel. We slaughtered millions of children, films are made of repetitive raping women as pornographers are made billionaires and souls are crushed. The only hope is Christ’s sacrificial death for our despicable sins. Without Christ we would be no different than this killer , we are that vile in our sins

Thanks for the correction, yes, the addiction itself.

There are few things that turn me off more than seeing women acting manly, acting tough, being obnoxious, and being aggressive. A more minor example would be just yesterday, when I was sitting, parked in a local park for a while. A middle-aged woman, along with the man she was with, were walking across the street as they left the park. I guess she thought a car was driving by too fast, so she postured up, all tough-like, and stood there, screaming in this high-pitched, shrill voice, as the car drove by, glaring at the driver. Made me cringe, and, strangely, I felt embarassed for her. I don't like to see any woman acting rough and tough, and think it looks ridiculous.

The difference btwn this any other addiction is that cheating on your wife with another woman, even mentally, is as wrong the first time as it is the umpteenth time. It's just wrong no matter which way you slice it.

There has long been understood that there is a connection btwn porn and violence. Sin is not content to maintain its boundaries, and those involved will want something bigger.

This isn't just a women's issue but a men's issue. We need to just say "no" and should have said "no" to stop it. It's up to us.

And I thought this guy was a supporter of Elizabeth "Pocahantas" Warren?
Which reminds me: have you noticed liberals can do something bizarre but no one calls them out for being hypocrites? The shooting at the Congressional softball game in Virginia was politically motivated--the shooter had a list of only Republican Congress members he was hunting for. The mainstream liberal news media did not cover that little fact, and you will have a hard time finding it using a web page that starts with g and has 2 ohs in its name.

Hi Frank...I never considered how it's really never discouraged, like you said. I wonder if they view it as a "My body, my choice", a woman's right, sort of thing. The imbalance is a strange thing though. Hate the men who view it, but remain silent on the women who violate themselves to make it all possible. Hmmm.

I would say more, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be taken well.

I wonder about the size and significance of this "Exodus Cry" group--it could be nothing more than a fax machine with one person running it. I'm sure they would probably disagree with much of what the Old Testament says about women, esp. in Song of Solomon.

Reprobate man does not comprehend the effects of his evil modern ways and that they are destroying him.

Evil is epidemic and man cannot defeat it.

Man's nature is wicked and he is blind to the fact.

I don't even like thinking about it, because the wickedness is probably so shocking these days.
I've never been into any sort of pornography, but I have looked a few times, here and there, long, long ago. I very clearly remember how incredibly dirty and disgusting it all made me feel, and it took a while to shake those feelings off. I remember the feelings of pure evil, and I knew, even back then, that I had no business peeking into that vile world.
