Japan’s Women Opt Out of Marriage
This was no conventional wedding to join two people in matrimony. Instead, a group of nearly 30 friends gathered in a banquet room in one of Tokyo’s most fashionable districts last year to witness Sanae Hanaoka, 31, as she performed a public declaration of her love — for her single self.

“I wanted to figure out how to live on my own,” Ms. Hanaoka told the group, standing alone on a stage as she thanked them for attending her solo wedding. “I want to rely on my own strength.”

Not so long ago, Japanese women who remained unmarried after the age of 25 were referred to as “Christmas cake,” a slur comparing them to old holiday pastries that cannot be sold after Dec. 25. ...

Japan is another country that we could draw lessons from, and this one is about the value of marriage, family, and the church as community. The Japanese people are becoming extinct but that has a lot to do with all the men they lost during WW2. Today's trends of not raising children is just part of the problem for them.
This also shows you the High Value that raising children has in any society, and it shows you the truth behind 1 Timothy 5, where it lays out a system of how widows were to be taken care of, first by their own families, then to get married if younger, and to help raise children.
I see it as the end-stage of a Christian Woman's Life, lived according to the Bible.

Well there is a good bet that those women don’t adhere to the below Titus 2:5 verse. (Sarcasm) Not all that long ago most women simply sought a man that would be faithful to her and provide for her and she could stay home and be a wife and mother. Not any more. The worldwide women’s liberation movement says that a woman has a choice; to either work or find a husband to provide for her. It appears they clearly chose the work idea. From the article:

“The shift is tied to the changing Japanese work force. Close to 70 percent of women ages 15 to 64 now have jobs — a record.”

I have never researched this comment, but my guess is America led the way. And this so-called liberation movement has taken over our churches as well.

Titus 2:5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
