Chick-fil-A Double the Sales of McDonald’s, Despite Closing Sundays
The Atlanta-based chain has grown rapidly over the last decade and now ranks as the fifth largest fast-food company in the US in terms of market share, up from the No. 23 spot in 2005, Goldman Sachs analysts wrote in a research note citing data from Technomic.

And despite being closed on Sundays, Chick-fil-A restaurants generate more than double the revenue of McDonald's restaurants, according to the data.

Check out this article for a clue to Chick-Fil-A's success. Interesting data there about how much it costs to open a franchise--$10,000--as compared to millions to open a B-K or McD's.

I think that was a great question you asked SC and I have been thinking on it myself.

We should be able to put to the test that which we believe and not think above what is written(1 Cor 4:6).

1 Thess 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

There are biblical examples that can be used to show the harm of holding fast to deceit like in Jer. 8:5.

I think it was David who was shown his error by a prophet in a similar manner.

His Word never goes out void and we can never go wrong if we stick to it.
They believe in soul sleep and the annihilation of the lost (hell is not eternal). They teach an Investigative Judgment that is determined during the time your soul is in a suspended state to determine whether or not you are really saved.

I interact with many SDA as well, and majority fail to answer "Is your name written in the book of life?" Good people, but sadly lost.

Right you are. We can prove, using scripture alone, any error that people cling to, and for those who claim they believe scripture is God-breathed, it's such a strange thing to me whenever clear truth, that they can read for themselves, is just dismissed. Equally strange is how people cling to provably false prophets, and place their entire trust and faith into cults, sects, and false religions invented by mere men in more recent times, as if God waited nearly 6000yrs to reveal The Way.

A perfect example of clear truth just being dismissed, would be the "sodomites of faith"; the "Christian" sodomites, LGBTQ's, who can clearly read what scripture clearly says, but it's like that portion of God's Word is invisible to them or something. They say, "Our God/Jesus, is not a bigot", while at the same time, calling The One who said it, a liar, while also defending Him. Strange, strange stuff.

Thanks to God for opening our own blind eyes, because any one of us could be any one of them; whoever, believing, whatever. Completely, and forever unworthy, but set apart. Should we be haughty and act entitled/superior? No, we should be on the ground, prostate, lowly, and meek.

Thanks Carol.

If you could own a business, let's call it a dry cleaning business, that had a sales volume of one million a year, but a profit margin of four percent, you would make forty thousand. Compare that to a building with twice the sales volume, two million a year, but a profit margin of only two percent. You would make the same amount.

So, don't be misled by sales volume; it's profits at the end of the year that you have to pay taxes on.

McDonald's has an interesting role to play in the 'depressed neighborhoods' of our big cities, which you can hear about in the podcast that you can check out (see little house above this post).
It is one of the few fast-food places open in those areas, so it comes to function as a social gathering place, where people hang out to play chess, checkers, etc.
I have seen 'seasoned citizens' on weekday mornings gather to 'chew the fat' there, and this was not in a depressed area.

Dr.Tim and Christopher000- So true. Our Lord said “Preach the Gospel to every creature” not debate them about their vain imaginations and practices of ‘their god’.
When the Gospel is declared if they are one of His sheep they will hear the voice of the Shepherd, and come.
Hallelujah, what a Savior!!

Amen, sc. Like most cults, SDA say they believe in salvation by grace, but if you study their literature you will quickly see that they add a slathering of works which, as we know from studying Romans and Galatians, defies and destroys grace.

Simple, but true. We can argue about this and that all the live long day, and immerse ourselves in apologetics, which is often more about a who can argue better, debate, but it's The Spirit which must quicken; The Spirit who must remove the scales from the blind eyes, so that they might see.

Many understand; many get things just fine, but mere head knowledge is far and away different than a true blue faith, and His Word being written in our hearts. We might understand with our brains, but it's our spirit, the real us, that receives, acknowledges, confirms, and testifies that He who draws us, is He who gives life eternal, and whose Word is true.

The best approach to witnessing to SDAs, Mormons, Catholics, Muslims, or anyone else is simply to present the gospel to them, “for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth.” Study the cults to learn what they believe, but use the God-ordained dynamite of the gospel to blow away all excuses. You will rarely if ever win them by pointing out all that is wrong with their beliefs. Instead, show them that they are sinners who will surely burn forever unless they receive God’s free gift of forgiveness and eternal life.

Hi SC,

I have a bit of experience/knowledge in this area, and even if there was a clear scripture or two, the issue is much bigger than their hardline views of Saturday worship. Getting any one of them to bend on that will be impossible, until they begin questioning their entire cult/sect/beliefs, as a whole. Their views on Saturday worship are based upon their interpretation of the old laws: The laws of God and of Moses; the ten commandments, and the ceremonial law. They won't be budging on that, until we can get them to question their false system as a whole.

With leaders like the Miller's, and Ellen White, they have much bigger issues than which day they set aside as The Lord's day.
In fact, it was Ellen White who said she was taken up to Heaven, shown the ten commandments by God Himself, and told that keeping the Saturday Sabbath was a requirement, so again, they won't be budging on that one.

I'm sorry I can't help on your question, but unless we can call their entire cult into question, and start by discrediting the Millers and Whites, getting them to budge on any one thing will prove difficult, to say the least.

The seventh day adventists can not be pleased...They insist that the mark of the beast is worship on the first day of the week...worshiping the faux pa...adamantly, stating that the RC church is responsible for designating the day of the week most Christians worship.
I know a few of these (7th days) and I pray for them and care for them. If anyone would like, please give me the best Scripture to pass along which refutes the "sunday worship" controversy. I know www.nonsda.org is very valuable to this end but sdas have no desire to check it out.
While many are works driven, I know many who have professed to be saved while committing fornication repeatedly...not repenting but justifying their poor choices by blaming others...we have probably justified and passed blame but, as Christians, should be out of a pattern of sin by the grace of God.
