Democrat House unanimously OKs ‘gay reparations’ bill giving tax refunds to same-sex couples
The Democrat-controlled U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday approved legislation enabling “married” same-sex couples to seek millions in tax refunds for unions that were not previously recognized under federal tax law.

The PRIDE (Promoting Respect for Individuals' Dignity and Equality) Act removes sex-specific terms such as “husband” and “wife” from the federal tax code, and allows couples “married” while the Defense of Marriage Act (which protected states and the federal government from having to recognize same-sex “marriages” from states that chose to recognize them) to claim tax refunds for which they were ineligible.

The U.S. Supreme Court struck down DOMA in 2013. The Washington Blade reported that the Joint Committee on Taxation put the estimated amount the feds could have to pay out if the bill becomes law at $67 million. ...

John MacArthur wrote:
.... A certain amount of healthy and balanced concern with current trends in government and the community is acceptable, as long as we realize that that interest is not vital to our spiritual growth, our righteous testimony, or the advancement of the kingdom of Christ. Above all, the believer's political involvement should never displace the priority of preaching and teaching the gospel....
Jesus' earthly ministry took place right in the midst of that difficult social and political atmosphere. Many of His followers, including the Twelve, to varying degrees expected Him to free them from Rome's oppressive rule. But our Lord did not come as a political deliverer or social reformer. He never issued a call for such changes, even by peaceful means. Unlike many late twentieth-century evangelicals, Jesus did not rally supporters to some grandiose attempt to "capture the culture" for biblical morality or greater political and religious freedoms....

Jim, I am not going to engage you because this is your goal:

So, QC,

1 Corinthians 6
9 Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals,

10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom.

11 Some of you were such, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.---WEB

QC, I ignore neither Democrats or Republicans. The above verses describe both and what they can do about their various sins.

Dominionists are even harder to fix, unfortunately. (The Deadly Dangers of Moralism)

Romans 8:7 because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God’s law, neither indeed can it be. 8 Those who are in the flesh can’t please God.

"Lord grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”---Reinhold Niebuhr

Obama's increasing the debt level was to help cure a GOP caused recession, which worked by the way. It certainly wasn't on the scale. Of what the Republicans have done.

Well to remind you, I'm an Independent so I could choose what to complain about or not. But, Mike, I think I will make you happy both the Republicans and Democrats has raised the debt ceiling just a day or so ago to even more astronomical levels. So, I suppose I should be blamed equally?

Just a Guy, well my Mike also, that has been a very conservative commentator on Fox news even who has commented on Trump's tweets. See❗

I would suppose that he hasn't quit the Republican party like George Will has either?

Mike, where are you remember my former pastor and the others I think it is not right to criticize the king of the country, in retrospect in a democracy the voters are in part "kings" of the country so as Theodore Roosevelt pointed out it is our duty to respond to Presidential actions: (Theodore Roosevelt on Criticizing the President)

Temperate speech should always be used in discussing any leader even though a democracy is not a kingship.

Mike, I assume masterweld has rejoined the Republican Party after being a party after temporarily being a Libertarian. No doubt he kept his Republican beliefs as a Libertarian. I'm surprised you didn't complain about Mr. Trump's conversion from being a Democrat before joining the Republican party to run for President?
I assume Mr. Weld would not support the large deficits that the Republicans are now ignoring?
Well, Jim, we know no conservative Republican could become a governor of Massachusetts, as Weld, and Romney for that matter, did.

I don't recall you complaining about Obama doubling the national debt during his 8 years, spending more in 8 years than all the previous presidents combined. Was that because you refuse to comment on sitting presidents?

Planned Parenthood roots from the Beginning were knee deep in Racism, evil-evolution, so much so, that Hitler. Brought Margaret Sanger, to Germany.

Truth is the New Hate Speech, to those who want to surepress the Only Truth, that can set the Sinner free, Christ Alone amen!

Planned Parenthood, the brainchild of the radical evolution atheist Margaret Sanger, whose 1922 book, The Pivot of Civilization, is a vile, pro-evolution, how-to abortion diatribe that was reportedly a book Hitler had as his bedside reading and the Nazis the following decade would freely use Sanger's extremist ideas to formulate Nazi genocidal 'health' and 'hygiene' policies against the Jews ultimately leading to the "Final Solution" or the Holocaust.

Jim; LK 13:3 I tell you, nay; but unless ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Planned Parenthood was clearly built up from its foundation, by Racism. It funny & equally sad in how Jim from Lincoln, has no issues with the Murder Mill of Planned Parenthood & it’s Raciest Founder!!

Wicked Jim; Jhn 3:19-20 And this is the condemnation: that Light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

Acts 17:30-31 The times of this ignorance God overlooked, but now He commandeth all men everywhere to repent, because He hath appointed a Day in which He will judge the world in righteousness by that Man whom He hath ordained. Of this He hath given assurance unto all men, in that He hath raised Him from the dead.”

Jim, I say in love & in a respectful manner towards you. In your fallen world view, you can’t even account for Racism. For your worldview clearly has been exposed on here, by your own doing. That you clearly subscribe to post modern-relativism, in what my be true for you, mayn’t be true for me.

You surepress His truths in acts of unrighteousness, all the while, in being held in fu responsibility for your actions, with out any excuses, I didn’t know!; Rom 1:18-32, Rom 2:13-14!

May the Good Lord have saving mercies on your fallen soul, to pull you out of your great gulf of self-deception you clearly are in, apart from the saving gifts of repentance & a new spiritual heart of flesh amen!

Pro 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

LK 6:46 “And why call ye Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not the things which I say?

Shields and Brooks, Jim? Didn’t they do “Boot Scootin’ Boogie?”
I have a copy of the Constitution in front of me, but would you please be a sport and show me where it says Congress is responsible for creating a healthcare plan for the American people? When they aren’t otherwise occupied being racists, of course.

Terrible news, though with the Senate in Republican control, this will not become law. But it is a 'warning shot across the bow' of where the country is heading if the Socialist Democrat Party takes control of both House and Senate and wins the Presidency in 2020.
Next step is to put in jail any preacher who preaches a sermon about how sodomy is a sin. Or to revoke that church's tax-exempt status for some phony charge.
I wish preachers would focus in on families, and the essential role women have in raising children. Elsewhere I saw something about 'making women a second class citizen' with this preaching, and I disagree. Even the secular world has it right when it says, 'the hand that rocks the cradle, rules the world'

Using this same reasoning, parents who had children before abortion became “legal” in 1973 should have the option of murdering them now. Better watch your back, Jim.
