US fertility rate falls to 'all-time low,' CDC says
The general fertility rate in the United States continued to decline last year, according to a new report from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Center for Health Statistics.

"The 2018 general fertility rate fell to another all-time low for the United States," the researchers wrote in the report, published Wednesday.

The report found that the general fertility rate dropped 2% between 2017 and 2018 among girls and women age 15 to 44 nationwide.

Andre Tartar, Hannah Recht, &Yue Qiu wrote:
At least two children per woman—that’s what’s needed to ensure a stable population from generation to generation.  In the 1960s, the fertility rate was five live births per woman. By 2017 it had fallen to 2.43, close to that critical threshold.

Population growth is vital for the world economy. It means more workers to build homes and produce goods, more consumers to buy things and spark innovation, and more citizens to pay taxes and attract trade. While the world is expected to add more than 3 billion people by 2100, according to the United Nations, that’ll likely be the high point. Falling fertility rates and aging populations will mean serious challenges that will be felt more acutely in some places than others.

While the global average fertility rate was still above the rate of replacement—technically 2.1 children per woman—in 2017, about half of all countries had already fallen below it, up from 1 in 20 just half a century ago. For places such as the U.S. and parts of Western Europe, which historically are attractive to migrants, loosening immigration policies could make up for low birthrates....

This is surprising to me with all of the people out there fornicating and sleeping around on their spouses. You would think more people, sleeping around more than before, would equal more children. I wonder if all of the abortion and birth control being used is the reason why?

Meanwhile, the illegal immigrants continue with a high birth rate, which means more costs to govt schools, govt hospitals, emergency care, etc (see Portland, Maine's explosion of Africans).
I think this means more of the citizens of those areas receiving these immigrants will decide to move south, to states that have no state income tax, and do not provide such rich govt benefits.
So there will be less people in those areas paying taxes, meaning taxes will have to rise, or benefits will have to be cut.
Another way of viewing this is with tears, that Americans are giving up on the Biblical model of marriage, raising families, being around for taking care of widows (see I Timothy 5 for the lessons there). Instead, today's preachers pick a few easy verses to an audience not seeking truth but a band-aid for their problems.

In England the fertility rate fell in 2017 for thr 5th consecutive year.

Perhaps the Lord is reducing the numbers of children to a generation which refuses to acknowledge God and His Son.

If you reject God He does not continue to bless your nation.
Why should He?
