Franklin Graham: Democrats' Equality Act a 'nightmare' for U.S.
Billy Graham Evangelical Association CEO Franklin Graham says that if Congress adopts the Democrats’ Equality Act, which would nullify constitutional protections for religious rights, the “nation may never recover.”

H.R. 5 which already has passed the House of Representatives, would cancel civil rights protection for women, eliminate the Religious Freedom Restoration Act and codify the LGBT agenda.

It previously was condemned by Graham and other Christian leaders.

In the July-August issue of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association’s “Decision” magazine, Graham points out it’s not likely that the Republican majority in the Senate will go along, but “if the Senate majority changes or if enough Republican senators change their position, it would be up to the president to veto the bill.” ...

Abstract

In the 1970s, a movement arose among white American evangelicals and fundamentalists that has been labeled variously as the "Christian Right," or more broadly, "the Religious Right." While they had not been entirely apolitical in the middle decades of the twentieth century, in the 1970s many theologically conservative Protestants began to organize specifically around their religious concerns, forming a number of groups—of which the Moral Majority was the best-known—in an effort to "bring the nation back to God." They also moved to the political right, joining forces with "New Right" activists who were seeking to push the Republican Party in a more conservative direction.... Leaders like Jerry Falwell believed that the nation had been founded in a special relationship with God; that it was now being corrupted by an anti-God philosophy; that things as varied as abortion, the push for gay and lesbian rights, the lack of prayer in public schools, the Equal Rights Amendment...

Democrats must make amends with the 402 other counties that voted for Trump after voting for Obama at least once. This will require the Democrats' progressive lions to lay down with the Democrats' moderate lambs, a spectacle as biblical as it is inimical to progressives' pride about their wokeness. They might, however, be encouraged to be more politically ecumenical by remembering this: In 2016, Clinton won cumulatively a million more votes than Obama did in 2012 in New York, Massachusetts and California, but won one million fewer than he received everywhere else.

....As William Voegeli, senior editor of the Claremont Review of Books, has written: "Ascribing the 2016 election to your opponents' bigotry makes clear that the problem was not that Democrats didn't do enough to deserve people's votes, but that the people weren't good enough to deserve Democrats' governance. ... One imagines that, sooner rather than later, even Democrats will come to suspect that denigrating people until they vote for you lacks a certain strategic plausibility."...

Beware.
The Democrat plague is pernicious in mankind.

(Dictionary)
"Pernicious":-
Causing insidious harm or ruin; ruinous; injurious; hurtful:
pernicious teachings; a pernicious lie.
deadly; fatal:
a pernicious disease.
Obsolete. evil; wicked."

Perhaps the "evil, wicked" part is not so obsolete in politics.

Matthew 25:33 "And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left."

A repost:

Democrats despise their country, and work at dismembering it.
Republicans like their country, but are afraid of conflict with Democrats.

Democrats get legislation enacted, even with a minority of the House and Senate.
Republicans can’t or won't get legislation enacted, even when they have the White house, the House and the Senate.

Democrats are proud when they take the country in the wrong direction.
Republicans are proud when they slow down the Democrats’ pace.

Democrats are aggressive in promoting their agendas.
Republicans are skilled in talking about their agendas.

Democrats want more government control of everyday life.
Republicans speak of less government control of everyday life, but
don’t do anything to facilitate less control.

Democrats talk about helping the middle class.
Republicans talk about helping the middle class.

Democrats want laws that diminish freedom for the good of “society.”
Republicans want laws that diminish freedom for the sake of “security.”

Democrats, when they lose, blame it on purposeful failure to count every vote. When they win, it’s a “clear mandate.”
Republicans, when they lose, blame the media. When they win, behave like Democrats, thus finding ways to lose.

There are many things wrong with the Dimocratic Party, Doug, not the least of which is that they’d rather see the nation destroyed than to see it saved by the Republicans.

Before we reach the 500th comment mark (that's the standard here for every news story at SA that mentions the Graham family--well, maybe not for Graham crackers), I would like to say this:
HR 5 is a problem and Christians need to get their voting muscles in order to change the House of Representatives from being dominated by the Socialist Democrat Party to one controlled by Republicans.
Those Dems are getting loonier by the day, if you just pay attention to what is going on in DC.
And it wouldn't hurt to remind Christians to keep Republicans in control of the Senate.

Compromising the word of God is simply dummying down the gospel of our Lord. Our churches and the gospel are being defined by our culture instead of the other way around. All who cooperate with this apostasy are guilty before the Lord.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Those who know that I no longer formally attend a church probably don’t realize just how much I am against change that compromises the word of God.

Matthew 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Its the war of right against left.
Or morals against corruption.
Biblical Doctrine against reprobate depravity.
Christianity against atheist worldly ideology.
Or as the Lord puts it -- The sheep against the goats.

Where the Democrats stand is obviously firmly on the Left.
Democrats are Satan's party.
Liberalism and its accomplices are fighting to take over in all western nations.

Liberalism is an ideology which seeks to destroy all Biblical, Chtistian and traditional (right) moral standards.

It is fallen world and satanic diabolical and depraved sinners --Versus Christian Remnant. Fallen world with its heart of sin appears to hold the upper hand because of numerical size and numbers of Satan servants in community leadership.

In a way it always has been this way.
But today Satan seems to have more influence in society than previously.

A new way of perceiving 2Cor 4:4.

Come Lord Jesus, Come Soon.

Dr. Tim,
I would like to make that consideration, but I’ve been a member since 1974, the deacons die at age 89, and they will allow enough change till the air conditioning bills pile up. So far we’ve had a few changes that women are permitted ( is;children ministry), we’ve got a single female interim youth pastor ( our pastor is throwing the term “pastor “, that around a lot), working with youth but she has a couple of older couples helping her. We’ve been told not enough “ qualified “ candidates but if your church is having a personnel change to include too many “questionable “ , look at the personnel committee and the relationship with the staff.that and when too many unwed pregnant unwed mothers with boyfriends stumble in, and everyone raised their hand when they joined.

From Jim's quote: "..and one GOP Senate member, Sen. Susan Collins, are backing the measure,.."

Ye, RINO Susan Collins can always be relied upon to support left wingnut agendas.

While we should be concerned about this "Act", there is one thing to remember. No *lawful* law can supercede the Bill of Rights, which codifies religious liberty in the first Amendment. This stands, btw, regardless of courts, which are also under, not over the Constitution. We need scream at the Representatives and Senators to remember their oath, or be removed from office at the next cycle. If the people are forced to choose between demanding continuing respect for the Constitution, or obeying anti-constitutional edicts, one wonders about the outcome.

So why not get out now, WFP? There are Independent Baptist churches in Lubbock that have not bowed down to the politically correct gods of the SBC.

Too many pop ups to read article but what I did read looked like a Trojan horse. Meaning the dnc will support this on the platform and the first act of democratic president is to place this into effect, and whether Trump vetoes or not, this is devastating.
But I’m seeing a troubling trend. In local small baptist churches, many staff changes are taking place, more women are being placed in roles of leadership. Which would be fine if this is in the bylaws. But I’m witnessing pastors, smarting from the dust up with Beth Moore’s reaction to being questioned for supporting women pastors in SBC . There are fewer men being considered and I find that perhaps the knee jerk reaction to swap roles for jobs is precariously slipping into a a church that is a politically correct social club with all the Holy Spirit power of a wet sack of concrete. First changes in personal, then quick votes to affirm without debate, and next thing you know the Christian flag is removed and the rainbow flag or get out.
