Major Shift: Liberty Lays Off a Dozen Divinity School Faculty
Top officials at the school dispute claims that the university is on a trajectory of decline, especially one stemming from its ties to President Donald Trump.

Instead, they told Christianity Today that the layoffs and other hits taken by the divinity school stem from the evolving ministry landscape, the same kind of challenges faced by fellow Christian universities, missions organizations, ministries, and churches across the country—and that the Trump affiliation has actually been a boon to the school.

“Really, it’s a sign of the times,” said David Nasser, senior vice president for spiritual development and campus chaplain at Liberty. “The landscape of the way churches are staffing is changing, the landscape of the way mission organizations are staffing is changing, and I think that’s why we’ve seen some decline in the school of divinity in that sense.” ...

In Britain we don’t have too many Bible colleges, and some of those we did have have been closed a long time ago,

Other large ones from the evangelical denominations have teamed up with secular universities and become more academic so that they can offer their degrees.

However, this path will be one more fraught with danger over the LGBT / Transgender issues, and it may become impossible for them to continue in good conscience, or else they will go totally liberal.

Churches will have to start doing their own non-degree non-residential training of their own members, and maybe of some smaller churches linked up with them, and perhaps that is more biblical.

Would we expect anything else form a for profit business. That is one reason why churches should be set up on a fixed salary for the ministers and others...

Otherwise, it becomes so easy just be more liberal to bring in more people and make more money. And the little bit becomes a lot a bit over time...

The big issue here is 'the changing nature of the church staffing landscape.'
It gives you an idea that church has little to do with what the Bible says, but more about what Modern Society says.
You might as well be talking about the changing nature of the way local governments are staffing their departments.
Same thing over at the Beth Moore story; the issue is not what she says about sodomites, but that she has a big Celebrity Preacher position that she is promoting, in total contrast to what the Bible says about what women should be doing in the church (Paul's first letter to Timothy gives some clear guidelines).
What Modern Society does not understand is that the Bible's instructions for women (to take care of their families) is a Higher Calling than leading some Big Ministry that "touches thousands of lives."
We would do well to remember the stories of people like the guy who convinced Dwight L. Moody to attend a Sunday school class, where his teacher took an interest in him and visited him in the shoe store where he worked.

Populist reactions are happening all over the world Jim.

The people in America are reacting against the antichristian, baby killing, Marxist and sodomite supporting Democrat party.

...But there’s more. There’s something about these rallies that goes beyond politics, and his harshest critics have found it fearful. “Trump has harnessed the kind of emotional intensity from his base that is more typical of a religious revival meeting than a political rally,” liberal religion scholar Reza Aslan wrote, “complete with ritualized communal chants.”

This isn’t unprecedented. At Barack Obama’s 2008 rallies, fans fainted, and those blessed with an Obama handshake pondered never washing that hand again. Obama was more than a politician. He was nearly a religious figure for his base. Something similar is going on with Trump.

...Trump’s improbable likeness to a mega-church preacher allowed him to capture the love of a huge swath of the electorate that previously tuned out or voted for Democrats. The people who came to Trump, especially early in the primaries, weren’t really joining the GOP and they weren’t primarily seeking policies. They didn’t even necessarily believe Trump would bring back their jobs. Many of Trump’s earliest and most dedicated supporters were seeking a deeper fulfillment.

Top officials at the school dispute claims that the university is on a trajectory of decline, especially one stemming from its ties to President Donald Trump.

A Christian university should have “no” political connections!

“So many would like to voice their disapproval of leadership but fear for their families, their jobs, & their peers. Perhaps some of us can be a voice for them, or at least help make others aware of the problem. More than this, praying for them is just as important.”

The above is why I often refer to many of our church leaders as hirelings!

Perhaps they will invite Sean Hannity back to do another of their graduation ceremonies. That should help them in their market.

What is that product Trump is putting out on the market that most of his supporters don't want, Jim? Would you be more specific? I know it's hard, seeing that accusation without evidence, is the left way.

This is a story about how the lack of faith, not factories, inspired a Middle American movement around one man....

....Trump’s early appeal was his declaration that “the American Dream is dead,” as he put it in his campaign launch. Faith in the American Dream is the weakest where people lack strong religious institutions where they can seek deeper meaning....

The above is quite a thought-provoking article.

From an entirely different source: (White Evangelicals’ Support for Trump Has a Soft Underbelly) -- "Nearly half of the conservative Christian group would prefer anyone but Trump in 2020, or refused to answer."
