China Installs Surveillance Cameras in Churches to Monitor Christians
China’s Orwellian-like network of surveillance cameras now includes churches.

Most churches within the Protestant Three-Self Patriotic Movement in one major Chinese city, Huai’an, have government-mandated surveillance cameras that allow the communist government to monitor the congregation’s every move, Bitter Winter reported.

For example, Bitter Winter visited a Three-Self congregation that had 28 high-definition surveillance cameras, including six above the podium and four at the entrance.

Within the Huaiyin district of Huai’an city, 155 of the 170 Three-Self churches have government-mandated cameras that are connected to a network allowing the government to watch Christians, Bitter Winter reported. Huai’an’s population is 4.7 million ...

Let them monitor congregations; perhaps the spies will go mad or distract themselves from the boredom of watching people repeatedly stand up, then sit down ad infinitum. Then the spies will need to be monitored.

""China’s Orwellian-like network of surveillance cameras now includes churches.""

Surveillance cameras suggest people watching ....

Let's hope the Lord uses the churches to convert some of the watchers.

God be with the Christians in China.

So long as our source is trustworthy, John UK. It may be true. We've also heard that many college students who profess a faith in Christ here in the US recant that faith once they return home. The Lord is calling a people to Himself. And we know from His word that the word spread abroad does not return to Him void (Isaiah 55). We know from Revelation 7 that there will be people from every nation, tribe, and tongue before the Throne in heaven. I am grateful for this reminder, even in these dark days, Brother.
Amen bro, the Lord is still working in some countries of the world, saving and blessing. The day he stops will be a good sign there is no more time, and the door of his grace will be shut.

That was my first thought, too, John UK. In fact, there are many fine churches here on SA that they ought to monitor as well.
There was a poster here who extolled the Three Self Churches. My sense is that the PRC/CCP is monitoring those who attend as a means of finding and tracking those who don't fully subscribe to revolutionary Marxist concepts. The CCP is simply waiting for the fruit to ripen before plucking it in this latest cultural revolution.
Meanwhile, we've been told that the number of Christians in China expand by thousands a day.
I would think you would not say that bro unless your information was considered truthful, so that is indeed a cause for great rejoicing, that the Lord is so working in that dark place, bringing the light of the gospel to vast numbers.

And all this while in Wales there is hardly a baptism of new believers any more; it is a thing of the past, a relic of a better day.

They can monitor our meeting if they want. They will hear the gospel and may get converted.

China is truly a terrible place. Its people have endured despotic governments for thousands of years. State worship is in its DNA. Freedom is as alien to its people as possible.
