Beth Moore: Women Should Preach in Church
Prominent Southern Baptist Bible teacher Beth Moore has ignited a firestorm on Twitter after challenging a theologian who singled her out in a blog post for encouraging women to preach.

Owen Strachan, associate professor of Christian theology at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri, said in the May 7 post he was surprised that both Moore and SBC President J. D. Greear support“a woman teaching and preaching to the corporate body.”

Thank you sc for your edifying and encouraging post.
I have been told by family members, “I was born a Catholic , raised a Catholic and will die a Catholic”, to which I reply no you were born a sinner in need of a Saviour..crickets.

Once again, this shows you how much the US is under the curse of
Isaiah 3:12 As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them.

The Bible gives many clear guidelines for life that few pay attention to. Church leaders should be leading a good family, but how often do we hear of their children misbehaving. Older women have certain guidelines for their lives, to teach younger women, but instead, we see them busy with pleasures, eating out, going on cruises, traveling the world.
Titus 3: 3 to 5:
3 Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. 4 Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.

Good for you Frank. Wear your excommunication badge with honor.
Dolores, we love the RC people and would not shun them. In fact, we would,as MS faithfully has, tell them the truth because we do love them.
We hate the RC system as we do any other false cult. The RC system is more dangerous as it uses Christian words.
Here's one for you- I have come across more than a few RCs who, when asked if they are Christian, will respond by saying "No,I'm Catholic."
To their credit, they are, at least, rejecting the idea of themselves being Christian. If only Christians could discern as well between the two.
MS, glad to hear that you were faithful. I have and I would venture to say that many others have unsaved loved ones and understand the importance and gravity of speaking about Christ to them.
We love them so much but also understand that no one is a robot and that they must come to Christ by their own free will.
Keep pressing. His word never goes out void.

One more thought on this subject.
I lost my devout RC mother awhile back.Every opportunity that the Lord gave me I spoke to her of the Lord Jesus Christ and His Gospel. And I prayed and prayed always pointing her to trust in Christ Alone and not religion and rituals...
I am so grateful for those times the Lord gave me to witness of Him, and my conscience is clear that I was obedient to His Word.

Indeed sister MS. The meaning of the word 'judge' escapes most, other than to use it as a club to beat others over the head with and wrongly accuse.
The 'god of love' permeates Christendom, yet the God of the Bible is first and foremost thrice holy, sovereign, and righteous. He HATES: He hates sin, He hates the workers of iniquity, and He will judge. He isn't some wimp on a rocking chair wringing his hands hoping sinners will see how lovey dovey he is, rather, He is the majestic, eternal God of heaven and earth that will NOT tolerate sin and false teachings/dead religion{ists}. Boldness to stand firm on His truth and oppose ALL that is false is essential. We will not be liked, or popular. Better to serve Christ wholeheartedly than to compromise.

Hi Dolores, I'm not sure if you might have mis-understood me. I've run out of time for now, so will try to get back to you, and also respond to MS in the morning.😊

Well stated Christopher.

When you have been rescued by the grace of God from such a diabolical cult and you have loved ones still embedded there you will pray and preach till they pass or the Lord calls you home.
To say we are hateful and judgmental because of our zero tolerance of false teachers and ecumenical alliances with Rome is a very unbiblical and void of any discernment statement.

Well, Christropher you just judged me because I won’t judge even when you clearly stated that no one has any excuse because the scripture clearly says this and that which actually boils down to my beliefs and not yours. And if I don’t condemn you (by the way that’s not showing love) because my beliefs are truth and if you don’t believe my way then you are doomed to hell.
When certain people post on here it gets so crazy and confusing that I actually feel like I am in the twilight zone and that’s all folks! No hard feelings, on my part.😭

Well SC, I wasn’t going to get involved in any conversation that included Dolores. She causes dissent, pretends she doesn’t like dissent and then intentionally causes more dissent. Strange behavior, that is for sure.

Anyway, but I do want to agree with you on your thoughts about Catholicism. If I am a member of a catholic church, then I either accept the teaching of Catholicism or I am ignorant of the teaching of Catholicism. Either way, I should be treated as an unbeliever. That isn’t judging their soul as some would say, it is “judging” their works. “Come out from among them” has to have a "them" to make sense. The church cannot save; only Christ can save. If anyone doesn’t know and understand that the catholics believe the church saves, then they should be ashamed of themselves or listen those who know this truth.

I was once told by a catholic apologist that I had excommunicated myself since I had been baptized cath., understood catholicism and rejected it.

In the end, when time is no more, and we stand before the bema; the judgement seat of Christ, Romans 14:10-12, II Corinthians 5:10, and the books are opened, and we each give an account, there will be no excuses. Nobody will be allowed to claim ignorance; "I didn't know this or that", or, "I was lied to...I was duped". No, we all have God's Word which contains His clear instructions, commands, and warnings. We will all be without excuse, and held solely responsible for who we aligned ourselves with, according to what we chose to believe, regardless of what God Himself had to clearly say. This is why it's so important to do our due diligence in warning others who are caught up in false systems of religion, which isn't judging, but rather, love, and concern for their eternal souls. "I don't get involved in what others choose to believe", is tantamount to saying, "I don't care about them or their eternal souls". Not witnessing to these, and leaving them in their sins, or, allowing them to believe that they're good to go, is a crime against them, the opposite of love, and clear disobediance.

sc, I don’t believe shunning people who are Catholic and lumping them all in a go to hell in a hand basket!! I actually do know about the Catholic Church and the things they believe which I disagree with mostly is why I belong to a Baptist Church with a pastor who is an ex Catholic with a brother and family that still are. And you know what, you would be the first ( well maybe 2nd, or 3rds or more) to tell me how much is wrong with this Church and condemn me for being divorced without knowing anything about me or the situation I was in, the reason for the divorce and the pain and suffering I went through. I am the first one that will tell anyone how horrible divorce is because I been there, done that and know first hand why God hates divorce. Have a good day, sc no hard feelings .

Discernment is given by God as we go through this life in our walk and journey. It is the way we can tell that which is false from that which is true, and that doesn't come from within ourselves.
Diligent study and prayer bring about a right understanding. We spot false teachers, false doctrine, wolves, etc. because God has shown us the truth. The new birth is essential in 'seeing', i.e., understanding truth and separating from all that is false. Discernment means we separate, we do not compromise ever, and we owe it all to God.

Ms, thanks for your concern but me and the Holy Spirit will be just fine, thank you. He has helped me with discernment of spirits, gave me comfort when I had cancer in 2004, when my husband had 5 stents in the widow maker (main artery) and 2 in another. 2006. A son that got on drugs and went back to Alabama, don’t hear from him much. God has been really good to me with my other 3 children being Christians, a girl that’s a teacher, a son who is a CRNA, another that drives an eighteen wheeler. I have been too blessed to be depressed.
Dr. Tim, you have been a joy on here and make me laugh 😂 when things get too, well you know what I mean. You are a fine Christian man and a blessing on here.

Good point, Frank. I would not and noting some of the other posts, question Ms. Moore further.
Thanks brother! And like I said, I did see your point and often it is in fact applicable. There are so many wolves masquerading as sheep, so many tares sitting in the pulpits, etc. I have personally been accused via email of being unsaved by more than one of the posters on SA. The Lord will sort this all out in the end, but I for one will speak forth truth as I see it.

Thanks for being so gracious.

Dolores, it's not our standards that count unless they match up with those in Scripture and we are commanded to uphold and defend those.
Romans 12:9

9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

Those who reject others who embrace Roman Catholicism love those people caught in that more than those who accept Roman Catholicism.

Miss Dolores, I’ll have you know I’ve never had a plank in my eye. A couple of redwood trees, maybe, and two or three acres of kudzu, but never a plank.
