Dallas LGBTQ lawmaker torpedoes 'Save Chick-fil-A' bill
A Dallas-area lawmaker has successfully killed a bill that LGBTQ rights advocates said would have perpetuated anti-gay discrimination.

Hours before a key deadline, Rep. Julie Johnson used a legislative maneuver known as a "point of order" to bump the bill from the debate calendar. It's now effectively dead after a critical legislative deadline at midnight Thursday.

Johnson, D-Carrollton, said it was "an honor to be fighting this fight" and torpedo what she called "a very hurtful piece of legislation." ...

LGBT rights campaigners have protested outside a shopping centre about a US fast-food chain's donations to anti-LGBT rights groups.

More than 60 people joined the protest outside The Oracle shopping centre in Reading, where Chick-fil-A opened its first branch on 10 October.

On Friday, the centre said the chain's six-month lease would not be extended....a

Chick-fil-A has previously told the BBC: "Our giving has always focused on youth and education. We have never donated with the purpose of supporting a social or political agenda.

"There are 145,000 people - black, white; gay, straight; Christian, non-Christian - who represent Chick-fil-A."

The British are going to lose out on some good tasting chicken and suffer from queer prejudice ❗👎

Just Thinking, the people of England aren't going to be able to enjoy Chick-fil-A except for perhaps six months or in a different location.

I know of one Chick-fil-A, location, gave a contribution percentage of money made from the store location. That kids could go to a church camp, so kids who mayn’t be able to go, were able to go so.

Politicians working, like to see this happen;

Nancy Pelosi amassed a net worth of $70M while in office.

Sen. Mark Waner amassed a net worth of $90M while in office.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal amassed a net worth of $70M while in office.

But yet public office pays $179,000 a year....

I want to see their tax returns!

Poor HuffPost editorial director, having to lament. Maybe homosexual people like good chicken. Since they are eating there, then it should be obvious they aren't being discriminated against. Maybe wacko leftist politicians and their media friends should find some productive work to do.
Well said! We have a Chick-fil-A fairly close to us and my wife and I both love it. The food is always good; the service is unlike any other fast food chain in the world.

But, I can't believe you want politicians to earn their money. Not going to happen my friend.

...the dean, Cynthia Newman, didn’t quit over chicken sandwiches.* She told the conservative site Campus Reform that she resigned rather than parrot the school’s talking points about Chick-fil-A’s unwelcome “corporate values.” “I am not willing to compromise my faith and Christian values,” Newman said.

Newman quit because she understands what many other conservative Christians do: The Chick-fil-A brand is so strongly associated with their values that the restaurant serves as a kind of avatar for conservative American Christianity as a whole. A community that embraces Chick-fil-A is a community friendly to “Christian values,” the thinking goes, and a community hostile to Chick-fil-A is likely hostile to those values as well....

It is hard to believe that a chicken sandwich fast food chain has become the icon of hate for these deluded people. Is there no sanity? Dumb question, of course not.

Even suggesting that someone's behavior is wrong is just too much to bear for the "any love (sex) is good love (sex)" crowd. This concept of being unchallengable is dangerous. The wounds of a friend are faithful, but the kisses of an enemy are sweet.
