Bestselling Christian writer and blogger Rachel Held Evans dies aged 37
Rachel Held Evans, a New York Times best-selling progressive Christian writer, has died at age 37.

Evans died Saturday morning at a hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, after she had been in a medically induced coma for several weeks.

"It is with a broken heart that we share with you that Rachel Held Evans died early this morning. She took a serious turn on Thursday morning and deteriorated quickly. Rachel died in the very early morning hours of May 4, 2019. She was surrounded by her family and her close friends — we sang and we prayed and we held her always. We are grateful for your prayers and for all the ways you have supported not only her but her family especially Dan and the kids," wrote Sarah Bessey, a feminist Christian author and friend of Evans in an update on the official GoFundMe page for the family. ...

Yes, unfortunately, Rachel Held Evans, rejected some important, essential points given in Christianity

9 Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals,

10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom.

Her support for immorality should never be supported, nor should actual Christians support the immorality of either political party 👎

Emma Green wrote:
....In the days following her death, conservative Christian figures—from the Southern Baptist leader Russell Moore to the blogger and provocateur Matt Walsh—have expressed their shock and shared their condolences for her family. Beth Moore, one of the most popular female Bible teachers in the country, wrote on Twitter that she was “thinking [about] what it was about [Evans] that could cause many on other sides of issues to take their hats off to her in her death. People are run rife with grief for her babies, yes. But also I think part of it is that, in an era of gross hypocrisy, she was alarmingly honest.”...

Great points, YIA. But I think we can and should mourn. We can mourn a woman who apparently walked away from the Lord and His precepts to take up a god of her own imagination. We can mourn the spiritual death that comes from rejecting the Lord Jesus as He is offered to us in the Bible. We can mourn for and with those who mourn, and perhaps someone can point those who remain in the right direction, along the ancient paths.

Someone died without Christ.

That could have and should have been me. But the Lord chose otherwise drew me to Himself, then brought forth saving faith. He did so through a preacher who took time out of his week to do what Richard Baxter wrote about caatechizing his community.

What preacher will go to them? How can they hear without a preacher?

Well said! This lady's teachings resulted in misleading many people She is now understanding the errors of her way.
And like you, I am not rejoicing in her death or the judgment she probably has gotten.

As an aside, before this article, I had never heard of her.

Hi Fred, there's no need for that, and I hope to see you continue on, and keep posting. Mis-understandings are a constant. Everyone is subject to them, and they happen often, by anyone and everyone.

If you're referring to my final sentence YOA, I don't mourn her daeth which is why I posted an intro to her book from Amazon. I said condolances to er family given a loss of a mother will not make life easy for a toddler and an infant. May they still be won to Christ as well her spouse if he is not already saved.

I think I'd do well to just read the articles for a while.

Lady Bug is right to also call out misogyny, but Held appears more than a feminst given she was disingenuous in many cases in misrepresenting applicable New Testament Christianity seemingly to sell books, mock the faith, or both.

"Pursuing a different virtue each month, Evans learns the hard way that her quest for biblical womanhood requires more than a “gentle and quiet spirit” (1 Peter 3:4). It means growing out her hair, making her own clothes, covering her head, obeying her husband, rising before dawn, abstaining from gossip, remaining silent in church, and even camping out in the front yard during her period.

"See what happens when a thoroughly modern woman starts referring to her husband as “master” and “praises him at the city gate” with a homemade sign. Learn the insights she receives from an ongoing correspondence with an Orthodox Jewish woman, and find out what she discovers from her exchanges with a polygamist wife. Join her as she wrestles with difficult passages of scripture that portray misogyny and violence against women."

Condolences to her family.

Sounds as if she had the flu and it ended her life. It is sad to lose a wife and children their mother irregardless of where she was with regardless to her position in Christ.
I hope for her sake and her family she was saved.

For the opposite of Evans, is Paula White, who said she led Trump to Christ. This is a long article on one of the major voices of Trump's religious council ❗

Lbug, Evans may have been a Christian, but if you want someone who's unregenerate, you should take the favorite female advisor of Trump, Paula White, she serves as an excellent example who should not be a preacher and who also serves as a good example of Dabney's article,

Julia Duin wrote:
Because of Paula White, evangelicals have “an unprecedented opportunity to have our voice and say heard” in the Oval Office, says one leader. But not all evangelicals are fans of the wealthy, thrice-married White, who’s long been associated with the prosperity gospel....

Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked - Ezekiel 33:11
Romans 12:3-For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but think of yourself with sober judgment, according to the measure of faith God has given you.
But by the grace of God I am what I am 1 Cor. 15:10

We would do well to remember it is God that saves us, by His grace. Our own hearts are just as vile as RHE, the difference is God's saving, electing grace.

Let's also remember Eph. 5:25 No man should 'lord over' his authority on the weaker vessel.
Some have gone so far as to NOT talk to their wives until they show the proper respect, and until they repent. This is patriachal religion and it isn't biblical.

RHE was an unregenerate sinner, her fate is sealed-If God has regenerated you, gifted you with life eternal by His grace - praise Him.

Misogynists are just as sinful as feminists.

After some research, I can confidently say she was simply another evangelical feminist. They are generally what are called egalitarian. Most know simply that means that men and women do not have separate roles, but their qualifications decide what roles they should have. They believe that Christ set them free to do whatever they are qualified to do. They are more dangerous IMO than a radical feminist because they use scripture and their positions mix truth with error. What Christian is ever confused by a Hillary – none.

Anyway, she now knows the truth.

1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

Too bad we weren't informed about this woman a while ago, so we could have commented on her Progressive theology. Of course it's always sad when I young mother dies and leaves a husband and children and a lurch.
Russell Moore wrote:
Moore said on Twitter. "@rachelheldevans leaves behind a husband and two small children, one 3 and one less than one year old. As many as can, let’s please help this grieving young family with the overwhelming medical bills."
Now of course no matter if she was liberal or conservative, the role of a woman preacher is not Biblical.
https://tinyurl.com/j9vs9jw (Women Preachers)
But still,
It would have been interesting and potentially helpful to other people, to have known if her medical condition was avoidable?
