Report Shows Increased Hostility toward Christians across Europe
Each day in France, two churches are desecrated in the country, according to the Middle East Forum.

According to CBN News, the report from the Middle East Forum showed that across Europe, there has been an increase in attacks on churches and Christian symbols in recent years.

In 2018, there were some 1,063 attacks on French Christian churches and symbols, such as statues and crosses. That number of attacks was a 17 percent jump from the year prior.

"I think there is a rising hostility in France against the church and its symbols," stated Ellen Fantini, executive director of Observatory of Intolerance and Discrimination Against Christians in Europe. "It seems to be more against Christianity and the symbols of Christianity." ...

Dr. Tim, we no longer live in the 1600s and the threat we face now are Muslims that have branched off into terrorism. Easter is being celebrated and churches attacked. One today’s news talked about was shown with at least 100 people dead with white cloth over them. There were many others attacked as well. Instead of attacking each other maybe we need to hold each other up in prayer.

Thanks sister ladybug and I have read your links. Thank you and sister MS for your kind thoughts.

John, I cannot speak to the beliefs of those who posted the quotes. The fact remains they are quotes given without editorialization by the site of what men believed.

[At the time that Paul wrote to the church at Thessalonica (2 Th 2:7), the Caesars ruled, and until they were removed they restrained the Antichrist from rising to prominence and exercising his power. This is why Paul could not speak openly about the restrainer in his letter, because he did not want to invite unnecessary persecution by identifying Rome openly and predicting its demise. Pagan Rome's rule ended in 476 A.D., so the above fathers were writing, in some cases, hundreds of years before the event, demonstrating that they understood prophecy, at least on that point.]

[There is only one entity that fulfills the timing spoken of by Paul, and expounded upon by the above quoted church fathers, which rose in prominence after the fall and division of the Roman empire in the 5th century, and subsequently took control of both civil and ecclesiastical governments, ruling for 1260 years (3 1/2 times) exactly as prophesied, and that is the papacy of the Roman Catholic Church, from 538 A.D. to 1798 A.D.]

Interesting, bro...

BTW, does not believe in eternal punishment, not even for the devil.

We no longer adhere to a futurist view either sister ladybug, but consider it a secondary matter when it comes to fellowship in Christ and His Glorious Sovereign Grace Gospel.

A blessed Lord’s Day to you dear one.

I suppose it all depends on what you choose to believe, for this site says the church fathers were historicists - and mentions many of the same men in your article US.

I used to adhere to a futurist view, but no longer do.

Also, from the site you recommended - 'The Catholic Origins of Futurism and Preterism' -

The problem is what the website is telling you is not accurate. There is proof from the writing of the early church fathers (before the fall of Rome type people which would predate the 16th century by more than a millennium ) that they were futurists. Many websites show this but will leave just one

Hi Connor,

That's fine, I know you are busy. I pray all is well with you in your 'neck of the woods'.
As I stated, I only gave you the suggestion to Wylie for informational purposes.

May you have a blessed Lord's day

The men from centuries gone by, men like J.A. Wylie, held to a historicist view. Prominent leaders and scholars among them, including Martin Luther, John Calvin, Thomas Cranmer, John Thomas, John Knox, and Cotton Mather, identified the Roman Papacy as the antichrist. Now, they could make the same claim that you do, that the Spirit revealed it to them. Such a claim implies you are right and all others are wrong.
How does the Spirit reveal truth? By careful study of the word, comparing scripture with scripture, for starters.
"What is the origin of the futurist view? We shall show that the futurist school of interpretation, on the contrary, is chiefly represented by teachers belonging to the Church of Rome; that the popes, cardinals, bishops, and priests of that apostate Church are all futurists, and that the futurist interpretation is one of the chief pillars of Romanism.
The former, or futurist system of interpreting the prophecies is now held, strange to say, by many Protestants, but it was first invented by the Jesuit Ribera, at the end of the sixteenth century, to relieve the Papacy from the terrible stigma cast upon it by the Protestant interpretation." more at

I don’t really understand everyone’s theology on here but neither do I feel the
need to.All I need to know is what has been revealed to me through the Holy Spirit that has been given me for this person. The AntiChrist will be one person .He will bring peace first then destruction when he sets himself up to be worshipped in Israel and the.
rebuilt Temple. I don’t believe Jesus meant that there would be literally many antichrsts but the spirit of the Antichrist would be in the world until the end when the man AntiChrist arrives on the scene and we will be in the Great Tribulation when we will have the mark of the Beast in order to buy or sell. Has this prophecy been fulfilled and did I miss something here?? !! So strange that when we want to believe something to be true we can always find some links or some preacher that agrees and that should be all that’s needed. I am not following any man and if I am misunderstood so be it. I trust Christ and Christ alone.

Proud to have been born in a barn, yes, hay makes for some comfortable bedding, and what is a Duroc hog...relatives you discovered through a DNA search, and now members of your family tree? Poor hogs...what did they ever do wrong?

I suggested the 3 part series so you would gain an understanding into my eschatological view, I see the papacy as the Antichrist and not some future person[s]. Your view obviously differs from mine, and that's fine.
I only wanted you to gain insight into why I stated what I did; not so you would 'agree', but so you would be informed.

1John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there MANY antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time."

"MANY" antichrists

2John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist."

"MANY" deceivers - Thus many antichrists.

The verses in Scripture which teach the existence of antichrist teaches them in plural.
The fact that these MANY sinners would collude together in their heretical ideology points to the fact that they would become an organisation like the Romish outfit.

The Reformers were pointing to the obvious fact that Satan sets up collections of antichrists in organisation. Otherwise known as 'churches' - Such as the Roman church, the Anglicans and others.

It is natural for people to come together as a like minded 'organisation' which has happened over centuries to form the antichrist churches.

The papal antichrist certainly runs the antichrist church.

Hi Connor, and amen to submitting all to Christ. It is a good way to go.

However when I said theological principles, what I meant was the choice churches have to make regarding how to ascertain what form etc. the meeting of saints is to take.

Without explaining each one, the choices are:

1. Regulative Principle
2. Normative Principle
3. Neither of the above

Different churches will usually hold to one of those first two principles.

As a Christian I hold the reformers as great men of God, however the Antichrist seems to be a person, not an organization. So I’d say the Reformers were wrong on that point.

And no, I’m not listening to a 3 part series. Thank you though.

@John Lee, I try to submit everything to Christ, I try not to separate myself from theological principles, I cling strongly to them.

Notre Dame is not a church. It is a branch of the satanic organization that has for centuries persecuted the church.

He used my teaching gifts to start a Bible Study in our homes that helped our faith to grow and the pastor even came to one even though we were all the younger women in there. He was young as well , we were scolded by older members as well.Don’t try to find a perfect church because once you join, it will no longer be perfect.

The recent news is that the Notre Dame Church burned because of a short in faulty wiring . Christians, have always been persecuted, and that’s why Paul’s warnings have been to put on your spiritual armor of God because we fight not against flesh and blood but our warfare is spiritual, against the evil one.
I don’t believe the building we attend church in is what’s important enough in God’s eyes to argue over. David wanted to build God a beautiful place to be worshipped in, his son had to do it. They worshipped in homes, in Catacombs because of persecution, Paul and Silas in jail. One Sabbath Paul went where Lydia and some women were praying by the river. He spoke to them and Lydia was saved, invited them into her home. You worship and bloom where you are sent by God with your spiritual gifts that are yours to be used by God for His purposes. Even in that Methodist Church I saw God’s hand as he used
