Parents Have 2,184 Arguments With Their Children Each Year?
“To all you kids across the land, there’s no need to argue — parents just don’t understand.” DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince try and tell it like it in their famous 1988 hit, “Parents Just Don’t Understand,” but for moms and dads near and far, it seems that kids always want to spar. One recent survey shows that parents and young children find themselves mired in arguments numerous times a day, and perhaps more than they realize.

According to the survey of 2,000 British adults with kids between the ages of 2 and 12, parents have an average of 2,184 arguments with their children every year. Broken down, that translates to 182 spats per month, 42 per week, or 6 each day.

The survey also indicated that the average parent-child fight lasts about eight minutes — which means moms and dads are using nearly 50 minutes of their day for bickering. ...

Is it like living in a communist regime or a loving Christian environment?

"...it's a shame that same respect doesn't also go out to elderly Christian brothers who ask you a simple question."

Um, maybe you might of gotten a sarcastic reply back in answer to your loaded question.
And I wasn't even addressing you in my original comment!!!

And when I said the phrase, "Sounds communistic to me!", that was extremely sarcastic, which in turn you didn't discern correctly. It was pretty obvious that it was, hence the lol.

Dr Tim you are spot on! I got backhanded when I smarted off to mama and that old crabapple tree by the lake supplied quite the number of switches. But hey I thank God for it!

Worship and servitude to your kids?
Please inform me, so I can be enlightened.
I have met plenty of offspring of Christian parents, and some of them hated their parents for exercising discipline, and some of them appreciated their parents and recognised their love through discipline. I wondered which one you were, that's all.

And if you have great respect for your parents because you wish to be obedient to God, it's a shame that same respect doesn't also go out to elderly Christian brothers who ask you a simple question.

A Christian environment is quite simply a biblical one, where we all obey the teachings of scripture, especially the words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the apostles.

I'm surprised. I would have thought you would have called it a loving, Christian environment.

John Lee, have you ever read the book of Proverbs before?

A verse or two from that book should show you your error.

Proverbs 13:24 (KJV) He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

Proverbs 22:15 (KJV) Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.

Proverbs 23:13 (KJV) Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.

Proverbs 29:15 (KJV) The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.

Ok. That should clear that one up. Know, how about a few verses on obedience to spark some distant memories.

Ephesians 6:1-3 (KJV) Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise
That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

Colossians 3:20 (KJV) Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.

Weird...but the Bible in no where admonishes children to argue with their parents; but to obey.

Sound communistic to me lol!! 😂😃😄

There are probably others that can attest to this but, some of us were hoeing cotton when we were 9 years old and driving a pickup to move water by the time we were 10 years old and so on an so forth. I have more strong adult words with my nearly 90 year old dad because he still thinks he’s the boss of me, so work hard till the fight isn’t there or break their plate and send them to the marines recruiting station.

Spank a kid these days, and it's child abuse...the parent, or guardian, goes straight to jail.

It's amazing really...

And they say it's not child abuse to mutilate a child for life and call it transgender. On the contrary, you'll go to jail with the child spankers if you try to prevent the mutilation!...

It all boils down to rebellion against what God has commanded. It's not about abuse, or identity, or helping people. It's about rebellion against the Lord...

Yep, agree with that, but we're in a new age where the kids rule the adults, and run the household...and schools. Spank a kid these days, and it's child abuse...the parent, or guardian, goes straight to jail. The kids have so much control now, because they know they can just make a simple phone call to have a parent arrested, and locked right up. I got spanked with a belt growing up, and that pretty much kept me in line. I wouldn't have ever dared to argue, yell at, or touch one of my parents, and most kids then never would have tried it either.
