the population already turned on its own. there's millions who were not born and those millions did not have millions and large percentage autistic or autoimmune low functioning because of aborted fetal cell industries that are well celebrated even still.... we talk of a CW as if it hasn't already happened.

walk the streets of the neighborhoods that were once filled with two parent families, the neighborhoods built in the late 50s, where the moms stayed home and the baby boomer children played in the forest and neighborhoods until towards dark.... and today you will find..... working class families with few to no kids, and those on gov assistance having them with broken up families..... streets empty and those same baby boomers living alone with manicured lawns.... seen a lot of it.

there's a song, where have all the cowboys gone?

should be, where have all the children gone?

number one name for children in london is muhammed.

CW already happened.

west is a cooked goose.

This is almost, but not quite, as sad as the who fired first debate between Solo and Greedo.
And just as productive.
Let’s sum it up: none of us were alive when it happened. The perspectives are varied and controversial. And NONE of us will ever really know all of the facts until we see Heaven, (or the other place for some... but let’s not start throwing names toward THAT destination right now.)
So, let’s all go out and do something for Christ, and stop the ignorant bickering.
Just saying.

I find it very interesting, Neil, that when people say bad things about you, it’s an “ad hominem attack,” but when you say bad things about people, it’s just fair and justifiable commentary. I don’t suppose you see the hypocrisy in that, do you? Of course not. You’re never wrong.

If would appear to me that this war has, sadly, become quite uncivil and remains so. But that is the nature of war. It is horrific. My heart cries for the dead of both sides and for my family's huge losses as a result of that terrible war. But the Lord's will is done. We aren't asked to like what He gives us but to trust the Giver. He brings what's for our best.

I cannot imagine the world as free of tyranny as it is today without the result of that war. No nation has stood for freedom and Christ as this one has. No one has dispatched more missionaries. And few have fallen further than this nation.

I believe there will be another civil war. This time, the North will attempt to liberate the South from faith in Christ. Jesus never fails, but will He find faith when He returns?

In the meantime, let me remind you that all you who claim Christ have been reconciled one to another by Christ (Ephesians 2). The enemy are the principalities and powers, those forces of darkness, in high places, not one another. The day may well come when instead of fighting each other you will stand shoulder to shoulder in not denying Christ. I pray that the Lord grants me the courage to stand in that day.

I do, but every time a story comes up having anything to do with the Civil War, Lost Cause folks like Tim and Ken have to chime in and we're off to the races.

Americans love to play the victim, it seems. It sure works for leftists.

Ken seems to be saying that civil equality with blacks is repulsive to him.

Jim Lincoln, nowhere in the federal constitution is secession mentioned. Scalia was full of himself. Secession was how the United States began, the Declaration of Independence is a secession document. The South was forced back into your bloody union at gun point. Force jimmy boy just force. Since that time Yankees like you have destroyed the Constitution. In the 1960’s Yankees forced the Civil rights act of 64 the voting right act and immigration act of 1965. The South resisted we lost again. The evil that goes on in this country is because of you smart Yankees. Even you Lincoln can google the facts. But hey just blame confederates.

If there is no right to secede, then it was wrong for the colonies to break away from England. If there is no right to secede, the Declaration of Independence is a sham.

Hard to believe there are over 30 comments already on this story, when it doesn't involve the sodomites!
I think there is a cultural civil war between liberals and conservatives. The states that are passing laws to allow more abortions are an example of this division.
Here's a piece of news that really gets at the heart of this, because it is with phony elections that the leftists stay in power.
Judicial Watch has recently signed a settlement agreement with Los Angeles and the State of California for them to clear out their election rolls. This has to be done by a national law but they have dragged their feet, allowing many dead and people who have moved to continue to be registered. In many cases there are more people registered to vote than there are living in the area.

And, just in case you need another example, just look at how your local newspaper and TV stations cover the President. It's mostly negative right, guilty until proven innocent.

Correction: War of the the Rebellion. And what do these interesting diaries tell us that are relevant to the question of root causes? You want to debate what-if's at Gettysburg? That's for Civil War forums.
Correction? Or is it simply a matter of perspective. The war of Northern aggression is not a title from me but from many of those who were there gave it. I suppose many in the North felt the same using the title they gave it in their writings which you referred to as a correction.

As far as what is in the diaries? Read and enjoy for yourself hearing from them.

Btw,
I dont see where I wanted to debate what ifs at Gettysburg Neil so I'm unsure of where that question is coming from.
I simply made a recommendation as a help and gave an example of such a diary I had personally read.
