In one of the most provocative and misunderstood studies of the year, scientists in the U.S. and Switzerland have made an astonishing discovery: All humans alive today are the offspring of a common father and mother ā an Adam and Eve ā who walked the planet 100,000 to 200,000 years ago, which by evolutionary standards is like yesterday. Moreover, the same is true of nine out of every 10 animal species, meaning that nearly all of Earthās creatures living today sprang into being recently from some seminal, Big Bang-like event.
Mark Stoeckle at Rockefeller University and David Thaler at the University of Basel reached this striking conclusion after analyzing the DNA ābar codesā of five million animals from 100,000 different species. The bar codes are snippets of DNA that reside outside the nuclei of living cells ā so-called mitochondrial DNA, which mothers pass down from generation to generation.
When I read the title: Science shocker: Adam and Eve for real, it kinda reminded me of the scam called, "Heaven is For Real". Of course, we all know that Adam & Eve are for real, the Bible says so; the wording of this article just brought back that memory.
Does anyone remember when that book, and later movie, came out, and was later declared a fraud by the kid who authored it?

I'll add this to other shocking discoveries people have found... Hundreds a baby skeleton in Egypt where the Israelites lived... Evidence for a flood that covered the whole world... Findings that proved Israel had a king so powerful very few others could rival him (Solomon)... Yep... It's been there all alongššš§
Good comment! They make me laugh also.
And then a cell miraculously formed and then even more miraculously it randomly formed a human body that despite the laws of irreducible complexity became a living being. But, this fully formed human of course had no means to reproduce! No problem, this random cell hypothesis simply started all over again and reproduced a human with different sexual organs.
The Quiet Christian Writes: "It is interesting that the researchers also found a commonality in the Animal Kingdom that points to common ancestry, albeit quite recent on the geologic time scale. One might expect commonality among kinds but not all."
I've often wondered how after the flood there was suddenly an abundance of new species from the two (or seven) that were on the ark. For example, the fossil record indicates that just a couple centuries (or less) after the flood the world was filled with a massive diversity of species from the elephant kind - wooly mammoths, mastodons, pygmy elephants, the elephants we're familiar with today, and many other round, skinny, tall, short, furry and bald members of the elephant kind. The same goes for many other kinds (including humans). However, we don't see many examples of rapid species appearance today. My theory (and I don't claim to be an authority by any means on the subject) is that the creatures on the ark had a rich genetic make up still relatively fresh amd untainted from the days of creation. This allowed for somewhat drastic changes (what is called "microevolution) within a generation or two. Combine that with a world such as the post-flood world was - one empty of life and biologic competition - and it's the perfect recip
Plain Old Tim wrote: But John UK, donāt you know that the Bible was written by mere men, and that itās full of myths and contradictions? Oh wait, that isnāt the Bible; itās the āscienceā books.
Aye aye my friend,
The Bible is no ordinary book, and we both know how it came about.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJV (16)Ā All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (17)Ā That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
Apart from John 3:16 there is another 3:16 which I love, and which many Christians have never seen before.
1 Timothy 3:16 KJV (16)Ā And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: **God was manifest in the flesh**, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
That's just it, BDF. Findings like that don't fit the evolutionary dogma/bias so they are discarded as failed hypotheses. But from a different view point, it merely supports Truth.
It is interesting that the researchers also found a commonality in the Animal Kingdom that points to common ancestry, albeit quite recent on the geologic time scale. One might expect commonality among kinds but not all. Wonder what Ken Ham's Answers in Genesis has to say?
Yes QC, any research that stands in opposition to the card castle of modern "science" is quickly brushed under the rug. I can think of countless examples and I'm sure you can do the same. Yet today's anthropologists have no problem creating apemen out of bone fragments and calling the missing link (although now they call them"transitional forms so they don't sound so missing).
There is other research out there indicating the same basic result, that all people descended from Adam and Eve. The research also found that the degredation of the human genome follows a curve that resembles the one made when one graphs the ages of the men mentioned in Genesis post-Flood. This research is reportedly still unpublished, and does not purport man to be 100,000s of years old but thousands of years.
