David Byle, a joint U.S. and Canadian citizen, was arrested after a routine I.D. check at Ankara train station on Saturday 13 October and taken to the Anti-terror Police Department for interrogation. David was released on Sunday afternoon, but given fifteen days to leave the country.
David has been serving in Turkey for eighteen years and has faced a number of deportation attempts due to his evangelistic efforts. He was first arrested in 2007 while conducting street evangelism. The official police report accused him of âmissionary activity, disturbing the peace and insulting Islam.â He was detained for three days at that time, but since missionary activity is legal in Turkey, and the literature he distributed did not slander Islam, a later court dropped the charges....
""David has been serving in Turkey for eighteen years and has faced a number of deportation attempts due to his evangelistic efforts""
The Muslims are afraid of the truth, the Bible and the Son of God.
They are a bit like the Communist/atheists who actively fight against Christians because they consider that the Word of God will undermine their finite worldly human ideologies.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
2Tim 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:"
Matt 4:4 It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."
1Thes 2:13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe."
Wow!! I see why the Muslims and reprobates are scared of God's Book.
May the Lord strengthen His sheep in Turkey to keep seeking the Lord, as the Lord would bring encouragement to them. That what mankind is attempting to do through government authorities is only temporal situations to deal with even if it results in death. For the Gospel canât be chained up, for their is no King but Christ Alone amen!
Spurgeon; Tried faith brings experience. You couldnât have believed your own weakness had you nât been compelled to pass through the rivers; & you would never have known Godâs strength had you nât been supported amid the water-floods. Faith increases in solidity, assurance, & intensity, the more itâs exercised with tribulation. Faith is precious, & its trial is precious too.
