The woman accusing Brett Kavanaugh of a drunken assault when both were teenagers has now come forward publicly, and on Monday it caused Republicans to delay a confirmation vote and schedule another public hearing. Yet there is no way to confirm her story after 36 years, and to let it stop Mr. Kavanaugh’s confirmation would ratify what has all the earmarks of a calculated political ambush.
This is not to say Christine Blasey Ford isn’t sincere in what she remembers. In an interview published in the Washington Post on Sunday, Ms. Ford offered a few more details of the story she told anonymously starting in July. She says she was 15 when Mr. Kavanaugh, who would have been 17, and a male friend pushed her into a bedroom at a drinking party, held her down, and pawed her until the male friend jumped on them both and she escaped to a bathroom until the two boys left the room....
Well, I would say that things took a marked turn for the worse when President Trump decided that he was tired of being responsible and sober-minded, which must have chafed, and instead decided to attack Dr. or Professor Blasey Ford, saying that, if this was a real thing, she should have come forward decades ago, which anybody who's familiar with these cases understands is not the way these things work.
So I think that's a real black mark on the Republicans. And I know a lot of Republicans, including Senator Collins, were really smarting over that remark and wanting to distance themselves from it.
On the other hand, you look at the Democrats, and they haven't been covering themselves in glory either. Senator Feinstein's handling of the allegation, sitting on it for two months, essentially, was almost inexplicable. And you have got various Senate Democrats who are pre-judging the case, saying that they — as Senate Republicans, some are, too — saying that they already believe the allegations without having heard anything....

This is turning out to be typical of most of the activist movements that have sprung up in the past several years. The pendulum always seems to swing too far to extremes.
Consider the difference between a 36 year old accusation of attempted sexual assault involving two intoxicated minors that can't possibly be proven and Harvey Weinstein's disgusting casting couch escapades that was common knowledge for years amongst all of Hollywood and beyond. According to the liberal left, both deserve the same outcome.
I'm in full support of women having recourse against men who treat them as objects of pleasure and sick perverts like Weinstein should be surgically prevented, in addition to prison, from every repeating what he did.
But to allow the activist movement to be politicized, as is now happening, is to allow it to be made of little or no effect. I would think smart women like Feinstein and the accuser would perceive that but apparently their hatred for anything Trump outweighs the multitudes of women who could be spared sexual assault if the #MeToo movement was actually about protecting women.
Oh, one other thing. Apparently Bill Clinton's accusers can't be grandfathered into the #MeToo movement but a 36 year old toothless accusation can. Political hypocrisy.
The lefts screaching seems almost fearful. As we remember McCain's involvement did he create the freedom fighters in Syria ?followed by the genocide of Syrian Christian's, he passed away. His bud Graham, distancing his anti Trump self to interview kavanaugh about military tribunals during his hearings? As disclosures are released and deep state undercover videos, this is not about some girl and bla bla bla, the future of our society hangs in the balance of supreme Court nominee and elections, never forget Benghazi
