Popular Pastor Calls Hell a 'Fairytale' No Different Than Santa Claus
Timothy Rogers, a popular Arkansas evangelist and singer, is coming under fire after he recently declared at a funeral that Hell is a "fairytale" no different than Santa Claus.
Rogers, 38, who leads the Prince of Peace church in Blytheville, made his comments during a more than hour-long presentation at the funeral of a young man he said he did not know but was of the same generation.
"'Is he (the young man who passed) going to Hell? Did he accept Jesus as his ...?' See, y'all have been sold a lie. You've been bamboozled. All that stuff is a fairytale. To believe in Hell means you have to believe in Santa Claus. I don't care how you cut [it]. Hell is an imaginary place. And I was told that if anything that does not have an explanation must be imagination," Rogers declared....
I have to believe he has read the Bible so he must know. He either doesn't want to believe in a place so horrible or he cares more about pleasing the masses. Either way, whatever his motivation for not teaching the truth, he is wrong.

John for JESUS
On the contrary, are you saying that his pastor does not know what the Bible says about "adding" or taking away from the Book?
Dr. Tim wrote: "What a solemn and terrible thing it is to be lost, and how very many are lost, and how few are trying to save the lost!" So very true, John, and it makes me question the salvation of many professing believers. Jesus said His sheep follow Him (John 10:27), and that those who follow Him would become fishers of men, or soul winners (Matthew 4:19). Those who don't fish don't follow, and those who don't follow would do well to examine themselves as to whether they are indeed saved. Far too many of us are like Jonah, fretting over gourds while whole populations perish.
Apparently it's a worldwide phenomenum, Dr Tim. No matter where you go, the vast majority seem to have a care for their own souls, but not the souls of others. It's a mystery to me, but I think it has a lot to do with the depth (or lack of) of spiritual reality communicating with the soul the great issues of life and death.
And this can lead on to passionless preaching of the gospel; and that can lead on to no-one exhorting sinners any more; and that can lead on to believing that there is no Hell; and that of course leads on to apostasy and the removal of the candlestick.

All who are living apart from Christ are lost. If we are to be soul-winners we must begin by being firmly convinced that those who are not Christians are lost – lost to God, to Christ, to salvation, to Heaven, and lost for ever unless they are brought to Him. What is it to be lost?
(1) It refers to the soul and to eternity (Mark 8:36). (2) It is to be living apart from Christ (Luke 19:10). (3) It is to be perishing (John 3:16). (4) It is to miss out on any opportunities for usefulness, and to be out of fellowship with the Father (Luke 15:3-24). (5) It is to be under condemnation (John 3:18). (6) It is to be under God’s wrath (John 3:36). (7) It is to be bound for Hell and a Christ-less eternity (Luke 13:27).
What a solemn and terrible thing it is to be lost, and how very many are lost, and how few are trying to save the lost!
I like these Bible Studies by Francis Dixon.

John for JESUS wrote: Cora Suither... I agree there is racism within the church. However, don't you think this pastor should still know what the Bible teaches about Hell?
I believe the whole counsel of God should be taught.
There is a stark warning against adding to or subtracting from it. Hell and Christmas alike. Hating or loving God is the basis for all that is taught.

God loves everyone. If Jesus says take out your eye if it causes you to sin its better to go with one eye to heaven then 2 in hell.. you better wake up and repent because you are in fairytale land my friend.
Good that you found mention of Hell in the Bible. Can you find Christmas in the Bible?
This was an interesting article in Christianity Today
Ed Setzer wrote: Are there racist Southern Baptists? Sure.
But the Southern Baptist Convention actually changed its doctrinal statement to include racism as a sin. It’s repenting of slavery and racism, and has made great strides. For example, there are more non-white SBC churches than there are ELCA churches (mainline Lutheran) in the United States. And about 58 percent of the new churches added to the Southern Baptist Convention in 2013 and 2014 are reported to be minority congregations.

Taken from the article up above, clearly this false teacher is missing the mark in the spiritual rebellion, the unregenerate child of wrath is in outside of Christ setting one free & indeed alone!
I don't believe in a lot of stuff that church gave me. I quit. Matter of fact, I don't want church. I want good. I don't want to do church, I want to do good because everybody that doing church, ain't doing good," he said. "Most folk who doing good don't even go to church."
The False Teacher doesn’t address the Sin nature accurately or Biblically by the Scriptures. As their is none who are good outside of Christ Alone, none who are righteous or seeking after God in their own fallen spiritual rebellion one is in apart from Christ Alone; Rom 3:10-12.
Pro 20:6 Most men will proclaim each his own goodness, But who can find a faithful man?
Ecc 7:20 For there isn’t a just man on earth who does good & doesn’t sin.
Pro 20:9 Who can say, “I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin”?

Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And those who describe former president Barack Obama as "black" and Meghan Markle as "black."
People have problems with who they really are; not who the others really are.

Hi Cora, I've lived in many states throughout the US, from the Northeast to the Southwest, and criss-crossed in the other direction. I've lived in the inner citys, the suburbs, and out in the country. From what I've seen, and all I've heard, it seems to me that racism is being kept alive and well by the very people who are screaming racism. Sure, there are bigots on all sides...always have been, and always will be, and it's a disgusting position to take, and for what? Someone's skin color? Ridiculous, but nobody is keeping anyone down other than those who simply choose to never go anywhere, as they blame everyone they can for their own lack of drive, and re-label laziness as racism as they spend their lives hating and complaining about things that they, themselves have the power to change.
Selling cars is actually hard work to make a living, so, a charlatan must find a better avenue to get rich, be adored and and gather perks along the way. This cat was probably preaching this for years till someone recorded this funeral service. Now, he’ll join Rob Bell and Tony Campolo
