Stephen Hawking Dies
Stephen W. Hawking, the Cambridge University physicist and best-selling author who roamed the cosmos from a wheelchair, pondering the nature of gravity and the origin of the universe and becoming an emblem of human determination and curiosity, died early Wednesday at his home in Cambridge, England.

He was 76.

His death was confirmed by a spokesman for Cambridge University.

“Not since Albert Einstein has a scientist so captured the public imagination and endeared himself to tens of millions of people around the world,” Michio Kaku, a professor of theoretical physics at the City University of New York, said in an interview. ...

A mighty intellect searching the ends of the cosmos, trapped in a failing and unresponsive body — the poignancy of Stephen Hawking’s condition explains, as much as his contributions to physics and cosmology, the fact that Hawking was until his death this morning the most iconic scientist on Earth....

In his later years, he stepped outside of his specialty more and more, and gave satisfaction to proponents of a number of dubious causes — including the New Atheists, various pessimists and misanthropes, critics of the State of Israel, and others.

He co-wrote a book with Leonard Mlodinow, The Grand Design, insisting that “the universe can and will create itself from nothing,” a nonsensical claim later echoed by New Atheist cosmologist Lawrence Krauss. Oxford University mathematician John Lennox replied with a book of his own, God and Stephen Hawking: Whose Design Is It Anyway? Discovery Institute physicist Bruce Gordon responded as well: “Universes do not ‘spontaneously create’ on the basis of abstract mathematical descriptions, nor does the fantasy of a limitless multiverse trump the explanatory power of transcendent intelligent design.”....

Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise.
1 Corinthians 3:18

Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
Ephesians 5:15-16

In his “wisdom” he dismissed Grace, very sad.

Stephen Hawkings life itself was a miracle from God. To live that long, when most people in that state die very quickly. He was given... grace, he got long life that he did not deserve, now he will experience justice. I think of him as an unrighteous Job, afflicted, yet blessed by God with fame and money, but also given over to use that money to become a curse for him. He didn't impact me, but I know was used by the Marxists to promote Atheism in their schools, and for that he was made into a god to many students.

"And in hell he (Stephen Hawking) lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:

For I have f[amily]; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead."--Luke 16:23-31

Thanks for reminding us, Connor. And thank you for your ministry of prayer. The Lord's will is ultimately done, but He also loves to hear from us.

John MacArthur wrote:
. . . Biblical theology, the revelation of God in Scripture, trumps all other sources of information and knowledge. And so, for centuries creation was a theological issue, not a scientific one. And then came Darwin and Darwin confiscated the subject of creation out of the realm of theology and tried to put into the realm of human knowledge and did no service to mankind.

If we want to understand creation, if we want to understand origins, if we want to understand how the universe came into existence and everything that is in it, we have to look at theology, not science. And the source of theology is the Word of God in which God speaks. The Bible is not theory, the Bible is fact. The Bible is reality. The Bible is truth no matter what subject it addresses, but particularly with regard to origins since no one was here when God created, we have only His eyewitness account....

This is not true that God's love is unconditional. It was. This is why Jesus had to meet all that the Law required. He
meet conditions we sinful, fallen creatures could not.
I believe we have done great disservice with the wrong application "unconditional love."

Jesus did not make salvation possible. He accomplished eternal redemption for his elect. If Christ died for Stephen then the Holy Spirit would bring him to faith and repentance in the new birth. If love has no power to save it cant be love.

If God loves you with an everlasting love He will save you from yourself and make you His own.

And for all the intelligence that the LORD gifted Stephen so that he would honor and show some gratitude to the LORD, he pridefully refused to humble himself and acknowledge that fact...let alone how offensive Stephen's rejection of God's atoning work for his soul by God pouring out his righteous wrath on his son, Jesus Christ, as a substitute rather then on punishing Stephen since God, who is the judge of all the earth, always judges rightly. That my dear brothers and sisters in Christ is why I hate it when I sin and why I love and enjoy the LORD more and more because he shed his blood atoning for my soul (and all of yours). Now it is my honor and pleasure to serve the immortal, invisible, and possessor of all authority, the King of Glory, Jesus Christ. All hail the power of Jesus Christ for his kingdom will have no end! Amen.
