Nearly one quarter of teens are using marijuana, according to a new survey.
Of eighth, 10th and 12th graders surveyed, 24 percent said they've used the drug in the past year, according to research from the University of Michigan. The 1.3 percent increase is the first significant rise in seven years.
I would think there are a few areas in the United States that could follow Iceland's example?
Sara Miller Llana wrote: ...Teen drinking – as well as teen smoking, marijuana use, and abuse of other drugs – has plummeted across Iceland in the past two decades as academics, policy makers, and parents joined forces to clamp down. And now cities around the world are looking to this tiny island nation for clues on how to tackle underage drinking.

While it appears to be a truism, ]]Blue States Practice the Family Values Red States Preach, one would think there would be parts of Utah that could adopt the Iceland model - - not the capital city of course, Salt Lake City, since it seems to be a dope den.
We should not be too quick in believing reports of this nature. Wasn't there a Kinsey Report claiming that research revealed that a large number of teens were sexually active? So what happened? Parents thought it was okay for their child to experiment. The teens thought "everybody's (teens that is) doing it" so Mom and Dad should not be so old fashioned. Teens as young as 13 began to date and parents thought it cool.
We know the rest of the story that resulted in multiple teen pregnancies. Children were raising children.
The facts about their research were later recanted.
Don't believe it until you do your own research. Better still warn parents and their children about damaging their brain and impairing their judgment by smoking pot.
(For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth; ) Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded
This will scramble their brains more than what normal smartphone use is already doing! And it is good news for immigrants--there will be lots of decent jobs available, since these teens cannot fulfill the normal requirements of a job. Even seasoned citizens who need a few extra bucks can get the jobs these teens used to fill. What will happen to these teens? I guess they will live at home, in their parents basements or out-buildings, waiting for them to kick the bucket to take over the house entirely.

John I think you will find that C.H.Spurgeon is a Baptist. He preached.....
"Every heresy, if brought to the touchstone, will discover itself here. I have my own Private opinion that there is no such thing as preaching Christ and Him crucified, unless we preach what nowadays is called Calvinism. It is a nickname to call it Calvinism; Calvinism is the gospel, and nothing else. I do not believe we can preach the gospel, if we do not preach justification by faith, without works; nor unless we preach the sovereignty of God in His dispensation of grace; nor unless we exalt the electing, unchangeable, eternal, immutable, conquering love of Jehovah; nor do I think we can preach the gospel, unless we base it upon the special and particular redemption of His elect and chosen people which Christ wrought out upon the cross; nor can I comprehend a gospel which lets saints fall away after they are called, and suffers the children of God to be burned in the fires of damnation after having once believed in Jesus. Such a gospel I abhor." CHS

The Calvinist doctrine of election is not accepted by Baptists because if there are some who from the moment of birth are predetermined to go to Hell then that goes against the Bible teaching of spreading the Gospel of salvation to everybody so that everybody can choose to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Connor7, Why do you doubt that my Baptist Pastor exists? His name is Pastor Stephen Schoenwald of River of Life Church of Hastings, Minnesota. Look up that church website if you don't believe me.
Don't know about the magic 'shrooms, but it wouldn't surprise me, it's just an escape to live in a world of pure imagination... or in this case, a world of psychedelic imagination.
Back in my hippie days, I did psilocybin several times, and I can guarantee you it never helped me "figure out what to do." Instead, it made it hard to figure out what I was doing.
After marijuana, are magic mushrooms next to be decriminalised in California?
As California prepares for the legalisation of recreational marijuana in 2018, one man is pushing for the state to become the first to decriminalise magic mushrooms.
Kevin Saunders, a mayoral candidate for the city of Marina, just south of the San Francisco Bay, has filed a proposal that would exempt adults over the age of 21 from any penalties over possessing, growing, selling or transporting psychedelic psilocybin mushrooms.
If he can get 365,880 voter signatures by the end of April 2018, the California Psilocybin Legalization Initiative will be placed on the statewide ballot.
Saunders thinks that now is the right time because, he says, the drug can help bridge the current political divide and restore a sense of community.
“The world is really hurting and everybody is at a loss about what’s going on right now with Trump, Brexit, the refugee crisis and everything else. I’m at a loss at what to do politically, but the only thing I feel like we could do is get psilocybin into more people’s hands,” he said.
“It deflates the ego and strips down your own walls and defences and allows you to look at yourself in a different light, “It could allow people to figure out what to do.."
If pastor Steve truly said that, I can tell you why that's a dangerous statement:
If I said, "Election is a lie of Satan" what will my audience think? That if someone believes in the doctrine of election, they are believing a Satanic Lie, that is a Satanic doctrine, thus we dare not explore the possibility that the doctrine of Election is true lest we believe in a Satanic lie.
It's a statement that doesn't involve sound argumentation, it's just a bold face assertion that needs to be said long enough and loud enough. We can conclude that Pastor Steve, if he even exists, has a strong bias that leads him to hold to the traditions of men rather than the word of God.

Either John is a liar or “Pastor” Steve doesn’t know God at all.
