Berating and slapping two pastors into signing an apology letter before police, Hindu extremists stopped a planned three-day gospel meeting in Chhattisgarh state, India minutes before it was to begin, sources said.
Hindu nationalists beat pastor Vijay Jogi and pastor Santosh Rao minutes before the start of the first meeting, where about 1,000 people had gathered at the Railway Grounds in Charoda, Durg District on Nov. 16, pastor Amos James told Morning Star News.
“Pastor Vijay Jogi and Pastor Santosh Rao were receiving the people at the entrance,” Pastor James said. “Suddenly a mob of 70 Hindu Dharm Sena and Bajrang Dal activists gheraoed [encircled] the entrance, and Pastor Jogi and Pastor Rao were beaten and summoned to the police station.”...

We often concentrate on the most destructive, national religions, while forgetting how many are trapped abroad in religions far older than Christianity and Roman Catholicism. Hinduism, Buddism, Zoroastrianism, Jainism, Confucianism, Taoism, Judaism, and Taoism. All from around the 10th to 5th century, BC. These made me think of how new the US really is, and all of the ridiculous man-made religions/cults we deal with here, invented only within the past 250yrs or so, by troubled minds and those who hate God. I wonder how many Muslims are aware that their beloved Muhammed considered Christians and Jews, allies, and that Islam was originally for the Jews before both rejected him as a prophet? Even Islam is young in comparison, being invented only in the 7th century AC. 6,316 is the estimated deaths per hour...worldwide. Think about that, and then consider the comparison if we could view the traffic occupying the pathways to Heaven and Hell each hour, and all day long, day after day, simultaneously. Never give up on anyone.
noj, if you're an atheist, which it seems that you are, is there an absolute right and wrong? For instance, is murdering a child objectively or subjectively wrong?

To clear up some misunderstanding, no one in the previous posts mocked Indians or Hindus as people, but rather their religious system. While I understand your concern, I would also point out that God Himself mocks paganism throughout the old and new testaments. Pagan religions are all ridiculous and laughable. Loving our enemies doesn't mean loving or even not speaking of their sin. Elijah belittled Baal, the Hindu pantheon is no different.
Now I will say the post from noj was a ridiculous and downright sinful rant from someone who in all likelihood is not a Christian. The other side of the ditch.

I'm so glad to meet someone who believes the teachings of Jesus are to be obeyed by us Christians. It seems to be quite rare these days.

Read Acts 17:16-34; Paul sought points of contact from his knowledge of the Greek worldview, there is no hint of mockery or ridicule, but only an appeal as an ambassador of God for all men to repent and believe the Gospel. We who haven't experienced serious opposition or persecution have much to learn in this regard. Lord make me an instrument of your mercy and love for all men, and help to correct with gentleness those that are opposed!
