Effort to bar child marriage in California runs into opposition
A Bay Area legislator was shocked when he learned from a young constituent that while Californians cannot legally consent to sex until they are 18, they can — with the permission of a parent and a judge’s order — get married at any age, even if their spouse is many years older.

“I thought, that can’t be true in California,” said state Sen. Jerry Hill, a Democrat from San Mateo. “We found that it is true in California and true in many states throughout the country.”

But Hill’s resulting proposal to bar juveniles from getting hitched has been watered down after it prompted strong objections from civil rights groups, including the American Civil Liberties Union.

As the emotional fight unfolds in Sacramento, there’s no agreement even about a basic piece of information — how many minors get married each year in California. People who want to limit such marriages say the total is in the thousands, ...

Stop LYING John yurich.
You misrepresent God's word continually.
God shows that what you say is worship is false .
It becomes tiring reading your utter tripe on your type of religion, you do not talk as a follower Christ, you do not act like a follower of Christ, because you are not a follower of Christ.
You've invented a god of your own.
You still won't explain why you worship and have "mass" with idolatrous people, when the God of the Bible, that you claim to follow says you shouldn't eat with them!
And this hurts, but you're one of them, an IDOLATER! So says God

In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory,[1] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[2] or of otherwise disrupting normal, on-topic discussion,[3] often for the troll's amusement.

And you are the number one troll uttering rubbish and nonsense. What is your problem with the post I made pertaining to the subject matter of this article?

Nothing wrong with a 16 year old girl marrying a man 20 years older as long as her older husband guarantees that she will graduate from high school and go to college and receive a Bachelor's degree in Nursing followed by a Master's degree in Nursing followed by a Doctor's degree in Nursing. But she should not work as a Nurse but only utilize her Nursing knowledge to care for her family.

Phil, in short yes and no.
As men we should stand firm in pedophiles.
So I would suggest we can do both, biblicaly

People in the US certainly seem to see right wing politics as more Christian. This despite the fact that right wing politics in the USA has caused the deaths of millions in other countries as it pursues oil and other resources. Is it just that you would rather kill millions of foreigners than allow certain groups of sinners legal rights? All men are sinners and heterosexual people are sinning just as much as gays. Only in Christ is anything we do not sinful. Shouldn't we be rather more concerned about the lack of integrity in the church? Mega churches preaching garbage instead of the gospel?

I try not to get involved in this, but Ladybug has a point, Jim. I can't even process how any Christian can align themselves with the Democratic party, they're all liberal left, and I'm not sure there can be such a thing as a conservative Democrat. Democrats are the reason this country took a nose dive over the past 8yrs during the Obama reign, and the reason for the gross immorality we see going on being signed into law, the deviants protected, and Christians now being labeled as bigots, racists, hateful, and potentially violent because we use the Bible as our guide which condemns the very things they have approved, condoned, and encourage as the new ways of life, etc.
Republican, okay, independent, okay, etc., but Democrat, considering what they stand for, which is pretty much any liberal, immoral, blasphemous, Godless thing? I don't get it.

It,s amazing how J. Lincoln can't see his obsession with politics, even posting quotes like this from PJ, "In fact, it was the very first worldly fixation I set aside when I became a Christian because it struck me almost from the outset that an obsession with earthly power and political ideology is basically an addiction to the wisdom of this world, which is foolishness with God."
Yet, 99.9% of his comments have a direct or indirect reference to what?.....politics.
His being a democrat means approval of everything they do, whether he'll admit that or not. The constant ranting against the opposition is more evidence of his love of the liberal left.
"The good man brings good things out of the good treasure of his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil treasure of his heart. For out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks."

California is a real problem. they seem to have gone rogue.

and I agree with you Wayfarer Pilgrim, it is instituting child slavery.

this cannot and will not be accepted.

they are revealing their criminality. pedophilia is illegal.

now I hope that SA starts to post the stories of the pedophilia ring busts going on since the new president took office....

Perspicacity or Mendacity? "Marriage" context 2017
on June 26, 2015, Obergefell overturned Baker and requires all states to issue marriage licenses to Sodomites
Deliberate ignorance of context paints one as
1 - anachronistically irrelevant
2- prevaricating purposefully

-

The matter of institutionalized homosexuality is so profoundly connected to man’s convictions about his own nature and that of marriage, family and sexuality that to ignore it is to be against one’s own survival—as a species, a nation and a church.
If men cease to sit in judgement on evil deeds it is not because they are tolerant, but because they are defeated.

Tolerance is a social not a religious virtue since the truly religious man is against the heretic and seeks the conversion of the unbeliever...True Christianity never held tolerance to be a virtue but a sign of degeneracy.

--
The entire western culture must be judged soon,
A sentiment of tolerance, not to be confused with societal approval, appears to be historically associated with periods of cataclysmic social upheaval, religious confusion and economic instability caused by protracted warfare or natural disaster.

ObergeFALL Happened- so " mirage marriage" meaning includes pederast Pope/priest purpose- dissimmulators' definition.

Put this in the original thread that it came from--such is life.

Apparently, Mr. Obama had never been on an Illinois farm? They know that queer behavior goes against nature and demands the deepest ridicule for anyone who would have supported point number #2
Obama himself made a complete flip flop on this, ]]President Barack Obama's shifting stance on gay marriage. The Democratic party payed the price for what God called evil because America is less Catholic than Great Britain (The Anglican Church is Catholic-lite), so not only the leadership of the Democrats was rejected, but that whole party is suffering for this obscenity! Obama did a huge disservice to the country!
This came right after one of your comments on that thread lbug. It was on a Jeff Sessions thread, but you can look it up if you're curious.

No, you deliberately go down rabbit trails and use your diversion tactic. Again , when you are exposed you resort to attacking and belittling. Too bad your psych degree isn't helping you out here much.....
I suppose it helps your 'ego' to belittle me, attack my gender, and insult my intelligence. Apparently I am hitting a nerve....
Here's something for you to ponder, John 3:3.

Rather than come here hourly and spew out your liberal agenda, you should be concerned about your eternal state. All your time is spent on politics and the things of this world. Your brand of religion is an inch deep and a mile wide, and you're content with that. You use religion mixed with your liberal agenda and think God will accept that. You are clueless to the new birth and THAT is the greatest tragedy of all, yet you scold John Y. There's nothing worse than a blind 'Christian' who cannot see their own fate.

Did you forget to take your meds? Your comments are completely void of making any kind of sense at all.
Diversion and going off on tangents seem to be your specialty.

FYI - I support neither the Republicans nor the Demoncrats - they are one in the same. Praise God for the gift of discernment.

lbug, you seem to be the only one who has substituted the Republican Party Manifesto for the Bible. Being an Independent I am not enthusiastic about either party platform. Of course I am hostile to dominionism.
