Did the FBI retaliate against Michael Flynn by launching Russia probe?
The FBI launched a criminal probe against former Trump National Security Adviser Michael Flynn two years after the retired Army general roiled the bureau’s leadership by intervening on behalf of a decorated counterterrorism agent who accused now-Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe and other top officials of sexual discrimination, according to documents and interviews.
The EEOC case, which is still pending, was serious enough to require McCabe to submit to a sworn statement to investigators, the documents show.
The deputy director’s testimony provided some of the strongest evidence in the case of possible retaliation, because he admitted the FBI opened an internal investigation into Gritz’s personal conduct after learning the agent “had filed or intended to file” a sex discrimination complaint against her supervisors....
Steve Benen wrote: .... A few weeks ago, Attorney General Bill Barr sat down with CBS News and addressed both the Flynn scandal and the Justice Department's willingness to intervene on his behalf. "[I]t is very typical, very common for the national security team of the incoming president to communicate with foreign leaders," Barr argued. "And that call, there was nothing wrong with it whatever. In fact, it was laudable. And it was nothing inconsistent with the Obama administration's policies."
When the attorney general made the comments, there was an obvious follow-up question: if Barr was right and there was nothing at all wrong with Flynn's communications, why did the retired general feel the need to lie about the calls to the FBI?...

WFP, I might suggest you read the article Yes, a novelty for me, If this is the same as ]]Circa News -- least biased. It apparently is, oh, on the same site, ]]http://tinyurl.com/y93qug56 (FBI chief McCabe faces three separate federal inquiries into his behavior).
I would have liked to find other reputable sites --and the above should reputable-- that says much the same thing, ah but oh well. It's certainly interesting.
This onion has yet to be pealed, but, what if Trump is right, just has no impulse control or filter. And after firing Flynn, maybe the Obama administration decided to put him on a list of people they would burn , if Flynn were to return to the NSA.
