U.S. Evangelicals Change Their Mind: Personal Ethics of Politicians Not Important Anymore
A new survey published by New York Magazine shows that 72% of white evangelical Protestants in the USA “now believe elected officials can behave ethically even if they have committed transgressions in their personal lives.” The article points out that five years ago, “white evangelical Protestants were the most heavily Republican voting bloc in the country, and also its most moralistic (…) But Donald Trump has changed all that. Today, white evangelical Protestants are the least moralistic cohort of voters.”
