‘The Big Gay Musical’ Creator Fred Caruso Dies in Apparent Suicide

Fred Caruso, writer and producer best known as the creator of “The Big Gay Musical,” has died in an apparent suicide. He was 41.

His friend, Rick Crom, posted to Facebook on Tuesday to confirm Caruso’s death.

Before his death, Caruso apparently wrote and scheduled a note to go live on “The Big Gay Musical” Facebook page. It states that he had been “dealing with ending things for a while.”

“I have nothing left in me to create. I truly don’t think I have any idea what love or happiness is,” he wrote. “I have produced great theatre, movies (two of which I wrote and directed) and I traveled all over the world. I regret nothing especially the choice that I am making now.” ...

Also john, you're painting all Catholics with the same brush, "Catholics have always believed and worshiped Jesus as God."
John I want you to think about this, (I'm not trying to be sarcastic or show you up,) you could not possibly prove your statement or know it to be true, I'm a independent, fundamental, temperamental, right winged, chicken wing eaten Baptist, I wouldn't say that about Baptist have always believed and worshiped Jesus as God, because I could never know that. All those who do not bear fruit do not have the Spirit, all those that don't have the Spirit, are not of God but are the enemies of Jesus.

Mmm, I'm starting to think the Roman Catholic treasury only allow their trolls enough internet credit for sporadic, once in a fortnight net time.

Wrong on all counts.

The Roman Catholic church does not believe that anyone needs to be born again, and you're not born again just because you believe in your head. A heart change would mean that you'd take the whole of the Bible seriously, including obedience, because as Jesus said, if ye love me obey my commandments. Since separation from the false and erroneous is a Christian duty (in other words commanded by the Lord) and you're a stiff necked rebel, you're not his child.

You may have missed the verse in Acts 2.47, which reads "....And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved." That wasn't the Roman Catholic church, but the Church of Christ, where Christ is the head. If God adds to the church, do you suppose he don't care what sort of church you're added to? Read Acts 2.42 ..And they (the church) continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine...why was this important for the early church? Because it didn't matter? Duh!

Frank, Catholics are not unbelievers because an unbeliever denies that Jesus is God and Catholics have always believed and worshiped Jesus as God. Cease with this nonsense that I am not Born Again simply because I attend the RCC. I embraced Jesus as my Savior and Lord and I trust entirely in Him alone for salvation and thus according to the Holy Bible I am saved regardless if I don't attend an Evangelical Church. Nowhere in the Bible is church attendance/membership in any church mentioned as being required for salvation and entering Heaven upon ones demise. Jesus will not look at the church that one attended in determining who enters Heaven. He will only look at who had embraced Him as their Savior and Lord and trusted in Him alone for salvation.

John Yurich,

[14] Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? [15] And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? [16] And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in [them]; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. [17] Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean [thing]; and I will receive you, [18] And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. (2Co 6:14-18)

Well parrot, for starters the above verse 18 is dependent on verses 14-17; especially verses 16 and 17.

Now, since you attend the RCC, according to your own testimony, you are not a son of the most high. That is your testimony and I only posted this for the occasional viewer who "might" be confused by your comment. Last one!

Brother Observer You said the same thing I am saying, but with "much" fewer characters.

And then some of you Evangelical Protestants on here state that I have a warped sense of salvation when I believe that salvation comes only through embracing Jesus as ones Savior and Lord and trust entirely in Him alone for salvation. Just because I attend the Catholic Church does not mean I don't believe in the biblical doctrine of salvation. To think that is totally nuts.

Brother Wayfarer, I appreciate your comments!

People are so lost looking for any form of diversion from the true remedy, its a time of decline. We can pray that as they come to the end of their experimentation "creativity" as he put it, to find nothing else left, that they will see the foolishness of this age and turn to Christ, the one true hope!

One blessing to have so many foreigners among us... muslem men often LIKE to talk about religious things and are curious about your faith and about your views on Abraham. So there is opportunity there.

The sickening tendency of the federal government is to be the purveyor of death. The government pushed abortion, medical assisted suicide and deviant behaviors that establish mental illness as a choice. They encourage social media , then make laws restricting speech when someone who is emotionally unstable kills themselves after having belittled by sociopaths. Our age is so sin filled and godless. We will require Christian students to have a permit to discuss their faith at at a university coffee shop and see no correlation when Isis crucifies Christians in Iraq. As Christians we tear and strike out at others due to doctrine or for that matter what bible translation we read. What will a Christian give up for the cause of Christ. What is of more value, Christ or this world?

I find it ironic that he claims he doesn't regret his choice of suicide, but in lieu of a memorial wants people to donate to a suicide prevention group.

A incredible statement ," I have nothing left in me to create . I truly don't think I have any idea what love or happiness is". So many people, without Christ or who have rejected Christ will think the same thing. There is a soullessness about our society that this psyche , this depressed soul is now the way all should be. It is by Christ , through Christ, and with Christ have I suffered depression. But, in Christ, there is life, and life to the full.
