Feds Seek Home Visits, Calling Parents "Equal Partners"

Big Brother wants to be an “equal partner” with American parents in the raising of their own children, starting before they are even born. He wants to send his agents to your house for “home visits,” too. Believe it or not, two powerful arms of Obama administration, the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), explicitly say so themselves.

In a draft policy statement on “family engagement,” the two unconstitutional bureaucracies openly state their joint position: families are “equal partners” in everything from children's “development” and “education” to their “wellness across all settings.” Virtually no area of family life, including the health and “mental health” of parents, as well as a family's “attitudes” and even its “housing,” would be free from government intrusion under the government's Orwellian vision. Even vague notions of “family ...

There are a few benefits to being a seasoned citizen, eh bro.?

I was astounded to read the young mother's story; that such questions were even asked and also that she willingly complied. The ever increasing bureaucratic intrusion into the lives of citizens will continue as long as the people believe they have no choice and willingly comply.

As you wrote.... "just say no." Demand their legal authority to ask such questions. Demand an explanation of what will happen if I refuse to comply. Produce the legislation passed into law by my congressman and senator which permits you to require this information.

More than likely this will put an end to the intrusion. But sadly, each successive generation has been conditioned to accept more and more bureaucratic intrusion as the way it is. No, its not the way it is unless we allow it. Our representatives have phones and it is our right to call them, complain and demand they take action to end such abuses of power...... even if it has become law through the proper processes. Laws can be rescinded.

when we get to this level, the parents have little recourse, unless they want to take that risk and have a lawyer on hand..... their state needs to pass laws to protect their citizens from this process.
I would definitely take my child home. The hospital's concern is safe delivery, and payment for services, not the irrelevant names and birthdates of other children.

An example of in your face, uh, reluctance happened on my father-in-law's farm. He ran a fresh fruit and vegetable roadside stand for years. One day some young state worker with a clip board showed up asking questions. My father-in-law told him to leave, that he was not answering his questions. He left, and nothing more came of it. Sometimes we let ourselves be intimidated by unelected bureaucracy. Those who lust for power (among others who care not for your children's welfare or your safety) take advantage of it. There is still time to "just say no" to those who try to do so. If we don't do it in small things, we surely won't in big ones.

When I had my recent baby I had to sign and fill out a paper at the hospital about my family. I had to give names and birth dates of all my other children and anyone else who lived with me. The hospital had to legally send this to the department of health and human services.
The department of health and human services called me days later asking a bunch of questions about baby and myself. Some of these calls with other families ended with home visits. This was vastly different from my other hospital births in another state where once I was discharged that was it. So yep I don't see this far off.
You say you had to fill out a paper at the hospital. Did you? What would have happened had you not? What relevance were the questions to having your baby? I would suggest nothing would have happened, for it doesn't include medical concerns or payment. Did you answer the phone questions? You are not required to answer any phone call questions, for any reason given. No law requires it, nor could, for scammers are everywhere. The main reason we are drifting into that which we don't want, is because we allow it. Nothing of this nature can be done without our cooperation.

Our Lord only knows what unbelievable laws and degradation of rights we're in for.
Surely this won't become reality!
