Obama detains 27 Christian asylum seekers

Iraqi Christians, also known as Chaldeans, have been fleeing escalating persecution in the Middle East at the hands of the Islamic State terrorist group for about two years. The country’s Christian population has declined markedly since the Iraq War began in 2003.

The 27 immigrants who were detained are in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement as their asylum cases proceed.

Family members and activists say they’ve been given little details as to why they’ve been detained for so long, despite being refugees from Middle East terror.

“We’re asking for answers and we’re asking for an explanation,” said Mark Arabo, a spokesman for the local Chaldean community and president of the Neighborhood Market Association. ...

Romans 10:9
9 {6}That if you shall {g}confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that {h}God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved.
(6) That is indeed true faith which is settled not only in the head, but also in the heart of man, of which we also give testimony by our outward life, and which serves Christ as our one and only Saviour, even as he sets forth himself in his word. (g) If you profess plainly, sincerely, and openly, that you take Jesus alone to be thy Lord and Saviour. (h) The Father, who is said to have raised the Son from the dead: and this is not spoken to exclude the divinity of the Son, but to set forth the Father's plan, with regard to our redemption in the resurrection of the Son. ---Geneva Bible Commentary

10 For with the heart man believes to righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made to salvation. 11 For the scripture said, Whoever believes on him shall not be ashamed.

The Very simple question, John, have you stayed at this we are you are known such as in your parish church? you have not shown them by either action or word that you believe the above - - apparently

Guys try reading the post thread from beginning.

To suggest that was implied is wrong, actually I expressed the complete opposite,

because I won't engage after falling bait to the " works " faith" argument, or really I had added fire earlier, and was trying to avoid lowering ourselves to the level of arguing, the like of which seems to be plaguing threads atm

Jessica,
Gday mate,
You're correct this post thread has degenerated into another cock fight between Christianity and Catholicism.

I can understand where your coming from with the faith/works , works/faith understanding.

1.cor. 5:9/13 God Bless
I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named brother who is sexually immoral or covetous or an idolater or a reviler or a drunkard or an extortioner not even to eat with such a person

1. If you are sincerely interested in knowing God's truth you will know it because "the Spirit of truth ... will guide you into all truth", not part of the truth.

See 'Former Catholic speaks about the Mass' by Vincent Wall

2. "... true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth:
for the Father seeks such to worship him.
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth" John 4:23-24

3. Your arguments are repetitive and old. If you feel Luther took away the unscriptutal parts of the mass then go to a Lutheran service.

Hi Jessica,
In regard to your post concerning the asylum seekers, the media has everyone who believes there is a God labeled as a Christian.
Now it is quite disingenuous for us on this Christian newsfeed to allow the gospel of grace and our Lord Jesus Christ to be misrepresented by a man centered works mongering idolatrous religion that is not Christian but antiChrist.
As for the people themselves they are our neighbor and we are to show mercy and keep them before the Lord in prayer.
God Bless.

Greetings in The Mighty Name of Jesus,

I agree, we can do nothing of ourselves, yet we "can do all things through Christ which strengthens," and, begets you and I, "unto a living hope" (Philippians 4:13; 1 Peter 1:3).

"I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me."

— John 5:30 King James Version (KJV)

Regarding the, 27 Christian asylum seekers, this thread has been judging that they are Roman Catholic by the religious props used by the protesters. The persons in the photos are the group who is calling for release of Chaldean refugees, not the actual refugees themselves. I do not believe that persons can make certainties about the detainees by the photos of them calling for their release. If it is determined that the detainees are indeed Roman Catholic, would persons on this thread have them sent back to be in harms way of ISIS?

With all due respect Jessica,
I to have been witness to much debate on doctrinal issues for 35 odd years now also,
And it always amazes me how many people are offended by this truth of which I've spoken as revealed by Gods word,
As believers, we are required to do the works Jesus commanded us, in order to glorify The Father in Heaven. Yet not all works are ordained of God (Matthew 7:21-29).

The Lord Christ Jesus says, "whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father" (John 14:12).

"We are unprofitable servants"

"But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat? And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink? Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not. So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do."

— Luke 17:7-10 King James Version (KJV)

......because THIS GENOCIDE must be dealt with in the church and our part in it. some think by arguing with SteveR they are making some kind of progress? Arguing over history when families are facing dismemberment RIGHT NOW and those who come to help them face western backed opposition which MSM refuses to cover? Its like a kid who is crying out loud when a tiger is tracking them... what does it take to get them to stop talking and listen? what kind of spiritual shaking does the western church have coming to her? (see Farrakan article)

the questions that should be asked, is why we are filling our cities with islmst that are receiving public funds while American go without.... but those who may among them have born again Christians are denied. as much as so many think they are distant observers of the jihadists, etc, I do feel this is a witness that we are FAILING. as rev 20 is fulfilled before our very eyes, and America fulfills the descriptions of end times Babylon, we console ourselves with the fact it has to be the RCC. what I have to say to this is always look to the "spiritual powers" behind all these things. if multiple movements follow the spirit of antichrist, it is best to come out of all idols. so many have said this great nation isn't even in scripture. doubtful. be careful brethren that you turn not against your own in your zeal against Rome. even this, could be the trap set for you.
