Supreme Court affirms right to gay marriage

The White House changed its profile picture on Facebook after the ruling.

The Supreme Court has found a constitutional right to same-sex marriage, striking down bans in 14 states and handing a historic victory to the gay rights movement that would have been unthinkable just 10 years ago.

Anthony Kennedy, a conservative justice who has broken with his ideological colleagues to author several decisions expanding rights for LGBT people, again sided with the court’s four liberals to strike down the state bans. The 5-4 majority ruled that preventing same-sex people from marrying violated their constitutional right to due process under the 14th Amendment and that the states were unable to put forth a compelling reason to withhold that right from people.

“It would misunderstand these men and women to say they disrespect the idea of marriage,” Kennedy wrote of same-sex couples. “Their plea is that they do respect it, respect it so deeply that they seek to find its fulfillment ...

Through the grace of God, my husband and I will have our 25th wedding anniversary this summer!

"The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?

And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,

And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?"

— Matthew 19:3-5 King James Version (KJV)

It seems as though the rights of every individual, on every level, are being usurped by some body, higher in authority, in our government.
There is a mandate to vaccinate EVERY CHILD, in order to prevent JUST ONE from measles. And if this is not resisted by the well informed and discerning, we've lost the last battle for democracy. We've already lost the battle to be a republic.

What's next? Assemble yourselves all the more as we see the day approaching. And, speak those things which are sound in doctrine. Refrain from speaking evil; whereby you strengthen the adversary and not the brethren.

Thanks for the (disgusting) link, sister.

No, it's not about equal rights. That's just the constitutional conduit to apprehend what they really want..... payback. We have a constitution which was designed to evolve with the people's needs/wants which stands in stark contrast to God's laws which are immutable. That's why these perverts hate Christians...... because they hate God and His immutable laws.

The SCOTUS decision is not the end of a chapter of our history....... it's the beginning of a new chapter and the acceleration of this nation's descent into the abyss of Godlessness. Thank God for the remnant's eternal citizenship...... the promised blessed hope.

Thanks for your kind comment. I will be the first to admit that I often step over the line and "probably" am guilty of judging folks when I am simply trying to expose their wrong thoughts or their sins. There is a fine line involved and that is something only the Lord knows because He is of course aware of our intentions and motives. I usually get upset when someone accuses me of judging because I simply don't know how they can look into my heart.

I am going to ponder this thought. 99.9 percent (my guess) of homosexuals that profess Christianity along with their lifestyles would say that I was judging them.

Anyway, your comment was thoughtful and kind; thank you.

No comments on the picture?

The perverts steal God's sign of peace and Caesar in chief splashes it on the people's house. All the while confederate flags are being taken down because they are an insult to blacks. Have we no black Christians who have been insulted by the rainbow being splashed on the White House? Oh wait; Obama is a black Christian.

What a disgusting mess we are in in this country. No wonder Putin is ashamed of our lewd ways.......

I have serious doubts we will survive as a nation the next 18 months and even if we do, its more than likely Hillary will be elected to continue the liberal agenda flinging open wide the gates of hell. But not to fret...... real Christians will sprout wings before it gets bad and the left behinders can deal with it.

I grant that Paul speaking in 1 Cor.5 is speaking of the greater excommunication and in this cause for incest. The greater excommunication is executed by the keys conferred by Jesus Christ, the Church's Head and Husband through the Ministry. When he states "but those who are outside God judges; Isn't that what Romans 13 is addressing in calling them a terror to those who do evil? God gives the definition of evil and good else we'd be left to the vacillating opinions of mutable men. Rom.13:3 "For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:"

All men are bound by conscience in things temporal to the powers ordained of God to execute His judgments in the civil sphere; this has to mean when they are in agreement with what is written. When they are not how can our conscience excuse us? Deut. 29:29

The article states "Supreme Court affirms gay marriage" This is the civil sphere where Christians who are in this world, though not of it; clearly will have conscience issues with the Supreme Court Injustices' law of opposition to God's; and not for the first

Jessica, are you referring to this in 1 Corinthians 5?...

"It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.

"And ye are puffed up, and have not rather MOURNED, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you."

"To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus."

That is to say they would not mourn the great evil, but continued on as if it was no big deal, maybe he was a man of stature so they didn't want to make him feel bad for his sin and abuse, instead they should've asked him to leave the fellowship as he was doing great evil....

Interesting thoughts about who should and who should not obey God’s laws. Sin is repulsive to God, so repulsive that those who die in their sins will face His judgment. So, if something is offensive to our heavenly Father, then why would I not care if people practice those things whether they are saved or will become saved or never become saved. At the various judgment scenarios that are noted in scripture; the sins of the sinners are noted. See Mt. 7:21-23, Jo. 3:19,20, Re. 20:11-15.

So, if someone wants to take the easy way out, they simply don’t tell unbelievers that their sins matter or are offensive to our perfect Savior and will cause His wrath to be poured out. I know these thoughts are overly simplistic and although I don’t believe I am called to be a social activist, I will speak out against sin on this forum or on the street when opportunity presents itself. If it is repulsive to God, it should be repulsive to us. I know of no scripture where God tells the saved or the unsaved that it is okay to sin against Him and in a way all are held to the same standard; namely perfection. The difference is Christ’s perfection has been imputed to me, so I am not under the law of sin and death.

Interesting thoughts from others, thanks.
