Palin to resign as Alaska governor
WASILLA, Alaska - Sarah Palin made a surprise announcement Friday that she will resign as governor of Alaska in a few weeks, saying she will try to "effect positive change" from outside government.

The former Republican vice presidential candidate hastily called a news conference at her home in suburban Wasilla, giving such short notice that only a few reporters actually made it to the announcement.

Appearance is not what makes a good governor. It is the convictions and faith. I don't find Palin attractive in looks, conviction or faith. She's a typical politician by trying to look good in many ways...appearance and compromise(Isn't she some kind of Charismatic-Pentecostal ecumenical person?).

So let's get this straight John Y., Palin is a good gov. because of her looks?!?!{Be careful John Y. not to let your heart lust after Palin}. So good looking people are better at what they do because of outward appearance? It has been said that Obama is good looking; by your standards that means he too is good at what he does. Praise God He does not judge based on outward appearance, "For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart" 1 Samuel 16:7
Kenny has the correct view on Palin.

Maybe you ought to write her husband he should force her to wear a veil to church, or maybe a burqa so people would never know she is an attractive woman.

And perhaps you could tell Obama of your beliefs as well. Just imagine how we would never know what Michelle looks like if she would only wear a burqa as well.

No way she could win.
Why don't you believe that Palin could win the presidency? She is more qualified to be president then that insane and psychotic jerk that is currently in the White House. I am a registered Democrat who thinks like a Republican.

Mike, I'm not a betting man, however if you put sarah palin up against Barack Obama, Obama will win.
If the election were held today, I couldn't agree with you more.

Give it time.

This reminds me of when Newt Gingrich quit as speaker of the house at a time when he was so hated and so visible that, even though he was an excellent statesman, his presense in power was hurting both the republicans and their agenda at the time.

Palin also appears to be suffering the "Dan Quayel" effect", where a decent person is continually malined by an increasingly corrupt American electorate that is not worthy of their leadership. Not a slander against Americans but a plain fact, when you examine our culture's fading morality.

Much as I hate to compare her to Nixon, that man, after being defeated by John Kennedy and Pat Brown (for California governor) still managed to weather over 5 years of democratic triumph in US politics to emerge as President in 1968 and 1972. The latter by a huge landslide.

Neither is it likely that Jimmy Carter II will win a second term.

That is too bad that Palin is resigning as governor of Alaska because she is one hot babe. I hope Palin runs for president in 2012 and gets the Republican nomination for president in 2012 because I would vote for her even if I am a registered Democrat. The reason that I would vote for Palin for president is that I believe that she would be the best woman for the job as the first woman president.
