Vermont Moves Closer to Legalizing Gay Marriage
MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — Nine years after becoming the first state to permit civil unions, Vermont moved a step toward legalizing gay marriage Friday.

A bill that would allow same-sex unions was introduced in the Legislature, causing a crowd of about several hundred supporters to gather at the Statehouse in celebration.

"This really is a great day and a part of moving forward to a time when all Vermont couples will be treated equally under our laws," said a sponsor, Rep. Mark Larson.

Freddie~ here's a passage from 2 Corinthians 10:5, 'We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take EVERY thought captive to obey Christ'.
Fill your mind with God's word, and you won't have room to dwell on your sexual desires. When your eyes come upon an image that leads you to lust, quickly look away. Christ commands us to take sin serious, and avoid it at all cost, "If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell" Matt. 5:29
If an illicit thought enters your mind, replace it with scripture. Cry out to God to give you a heart that fears Him, a heart that desires what He desires. If you are struggling with sexual temptation, you must go before the Lord, not come on these boards and try to round up some sort of group discussion. This truly is very serious Freddie, may God intervene quickly. We will pray for you.

Wouldn't it be nice that, instead of bashing gays and "non-gays", it would be nice to see how myself. a person struggling with liking men and their private parts would be helped by others who struggle with the same desires. I'm sure that there are many, many Christians who struggle with "same sex issues" and don't dare to come out with it. Please, in these rooms, try to come out with your own struggles with homosexuallity and say" I know that this struggle prevails with many, many Christians!! probably 50 percent!!!!

John Y, No one here is demanding you become an ev. prot.! There are many who claim to be such and they are deeply lost in sin.
You are in direct disobedience to the command of the Lord found in 2 Cor. 6:14. If you are in the light, then why do you fellowship with darkness? You fail to see the necessity of removing yourself from the great harlot, why? You sit under doctrines of demons and make excuses to all who call you on this. You repeatedly defend yourself by saying you reject such and such. The scariest part is this, "Why do you call me Lord Lord and DO NOT do the things that I say?" Luke 6:46
'And then I will declare to them, "I never knew you, depart from me, you who practice lawlessness". Matthew 7:23

The Muslims claim to believe in Jesus as well {they say He is the son of Mary, does that mean we pick and choose what is right from their beliefs and throw away the rest?}, as do the Mormons, Jehovah Witness, and scores of others. Are all who follow their teachings going to heaven John? Just how wide is that broad road?

NARROW IS THE WAY

Since when everybody stands before Jesus after they pass away and the subject of church membership will not be required for entrance into Heaven then I will not be asked by Jesus why I was not a Ev Protestant.

A far better quesiton for you and for all of us to ask honestly before the Lord in prayer is whether or not we will stand quilty and rejected by the Lord Jesus Christ, the One they thought they believed in and He would ask us something to the effect,

'Why do you call Me, 'Lord, Lord' and do not do the things that I say?'

John, couldn't that include false witness of how "good" the Roman Catholic Churc is and ones disobedience to Christ in refusing to come out from among them?

So John Yurich, you prefer a dead, robot form of religiosity to real worship in a fellowship of true born again believers where God is worshiped in spirit and in truth? Your excuses for remaining in the great harlot won't fly with Christ. Unless you are there every time hammering home the true Gospel, you have no excuse to stay.
The RCC does not worship God according to how He is revealed in the scriptures. You ignore the command of God from 2 Cor. 6:14. You are in grave danger, subjecting your soul to doctrines of demons, doing what YOU desire, instead of what Christ commands.
Examine yourself to see if you really are in the faith.

That is totally illogical to state that just because I attend the Catholic Church that I am supporting the Doctrine Of Apostates. If I have totally repudiated and rejected the unscriptural Catholic doctrines then I am not supporting the Doctrine Of Apostates irrespective of the fact that I attend the Catholic Church.

just a thought: You inquired as to why I still attend the RCC eventhough I do not subscribe to the unscriptural RCC doctrines? Because I am more comfortable with the liturgical worship over the non liturgical worship of Evangelical Protestant Churches. If I have totally repudiated and rejected the unscriptural RCC doctrines and adhere only to the scriptural RCC doctrines then I have distanced myself from darkness and lawlessness.

John Yurich, if you have totally repudiated and rejected the unscriptural doctrines of the RCC, then why do you still attend mass? Why are you so easily offended when comments are made against the RCC? Why do you fail to understand this passage, "For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?" 2 Cor. 6:14

The bible commands us to distance ourselves from darkness, lawlessness; yet you continue on in it. You are rebelling against God's word, which is sin. You want to straddle the fence, making excuses as you sit atop it. May the Lord be merciful and nudge you off it.

Why did you bring up the Roman Catholic Church in this discussion? The article is about the perverts in government who want to legalise the abominaton of homosexual marriage. And for your edification if I have totally repudiated and rejected the unscriptural RCC doctrines and believe that salvation is by Justification By Faith in Jesus alone then I am avoiding the Doctrine Of Apostates.

Let us call men to repentance, but let us also not be discouraged if they do not repent, for there are many who never will repent even when confronted with God's open and obvious judgment of their deeds.

Revelation 9:
20And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:

21Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

Revelation 16:
8And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.

9And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

10And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,

11And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.
