On the third day of her televised "Best Life" week-long series, even Oprah Winfrey was stunned to hear one of her pastor panelists, Rev. Ed Bacon, declare, "Being gay is a gift from God."
With wide eyes, Winfrey responded, "Well, you are the first minister I've ever heard say, 'Being gay is a gift from God,' I can tell you that."
The comment was made earlier this month on the "Your Spiritual Journey" segment of Winfrey's "Best Life Week" by Rev. Bacon of the All Saints Episcopal Church in Pasadena, Calif., a church described by Pasadena Weekly as "one of the most socially progressive religious institutions in America."...
John Boyer~ Praise the Lord for your new birth! I love this statement from your testimony, 'from that day on I turned away from being gay, no longer wanting to hurt my God like that ever again'. What a beautiful example of repentance. Thank you for coming here and sharing with us what our Great and Awesome God has done for you. May He always be glorified through all He saves.

Thank you, John, for your testimony!
It's a terrible shame (and a LIE of The Adversary) that so many have their very identity wrapped up in homosexuality. Convinced that they were "born that way" makes this sin exceedingly pernicious and ONLY a work of the Holy Spirit is able to break one from its bonds through the Divine gift of GRACE unto salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. I rejoice in your salvation and remind you that whom God has forgiven much, He has loved much! Again, thanks.
I met the Lord Jesus Christ 4 years ago as a 30 yr old gay man. For the first time in my life I felt Loved and Forgiven, He came into my heart and washed all my pain away. I ran hard and fast after this Jesus and He very quickly told me He did not want me to be gay or indulge in that lifestyle any longer. He told me "this is not who I created you to be." I had been gay my whole life, as far back as my memory goes I was attracted to the same-sex. I thought I was born like that. He showed me through His own eyes how disgusting these acts were, these things I did with my body as a gay man with other men. He let me know how much it grieved His Heart. From that day on I turned away from being gay, no longer wanting to hurt my God like that ever again. He showed me love like I never imagined was even possible to experience while alive here in this body! Our Lord Jesus Christ loves each and everyone of us, died for each and everyone of us, but is calling each and everyone of us out of darkness into His Marvelous Light.
Hmm...so God gives this gift which excludes such who do it from inheriting the kingdom of God. How is such a thing even possible? Because it is not. God is not the author of sin and does not tempt anybody but will make a way of escape from temptation.

Scripture does not say one goes to hell for having an "unrepentant heart"? Sinners go to hell becasue...they are sinners.
Paul states: "God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet."
It takes humility, to admit you were given up by God to vile behavior. I always wanted to blame someone else when I thought about my gross sins, because I was so ashamed. _________________________________________________
I believe God does love them and they are made in God's image. Yet "same sex" interactions are sin, as are many other sexual bondages. Just because someone is struggling with those emotions, they don't need to take on the title "gay". A person needs to throw themselves to God's mercy in every instance where temptation lurks. When a person resists temptation, he or she can know that they are sharing in Christ. He was tempted and that without sin. O what abominations would we all practice without The Lord, whether we wanted to or not.
If you guys can believe it, I happen to know Ed Bacon of the All Saints Church in Pasadena. The church which he pastors is perhaps the most liberal in America! They believe absolutely nothing that God says, nor do they have a high view of Scripture.
Whoever says that Rev. Bacon is a dangerous man is correct. Everybody on his staff at All Saints are either gay men or lesbians. It is so sad. Needless to say, the church is large and very influential in Pasadena.
They just led in a meeting at the City Hall in Pasadena to protest the passage of Prop 8. This is actually the second time in two months that they have done this.
If I understand Romans 1:18-32 right, God has given the human race over to "impurity, so that [our] bodies would be dishonored among [us]" (v. 24)." This was done because we "exchanged the truth of God for the lie and worshipped and served the creation rather than the Creator" (v. 25). What dishonoring of our bodies God had in mind is clearly homosexuality, the "degrading passions" mentioned in verse 26 and the "burn[ing] in their desire for each other" (i.e. of the same sex) and "comitting indecent acts" of verse 27. Of course the list of sins in verses 29-32 makes certain that all of us have been personally afflicted with this punishment from God. But, it is clear that God intended His punishment of the human race for their rejection of His glory to be as degrading as possible, thus we are given homosexuality. It appears also that He wants this sin to portray the exchange for which we are being punished: rather than love and honor One who is gloriously different from ourselves, we choose to love and honor mankind (our own kind) instead. Oh how we all need to understand the message God put in the punishment!
Excuse me Sharon, while you nit pick my words to death. An "unrepentant heart" was what I assumed an actively gay person would have...or can you be sexually active, gay, and not sin? Being gay is not one of my problems, neither is asking the Lord for forgiveness and light. Go pester someone else.

Mr. Bacon says "Being gay is a gift from God." ??? ???
I don't know who this god is he is speaking of ...
THERE'S ONE THING WE CAN BE CERTAIN OF, the god Mr. Bacon is referring to ISN'T THE GOD SPOKEN OF IN THE HOLY BIBLE -- NO, Bacon's god ISN'T THE FATHER OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST !!!
Mr. Bacon is a very dangerous man ... espousing such a recklessly perverted theological ideology will lead many astray and you can bet that this is just a taste of what is coming under Obama's watch ...
THE REAL QUESTION IS ------- JUST HOW MUCH WILL GOOD PEOPLE WHO KNOW "RIGHT" FROM "wrong" TAKE ???
"OUR" FOREFATHERS WEREN'T THE GODLESS COWARDS "WE" HAVE BECOME --- THEY WOULD NEVER HAVE STOOD STILL AND LET HELL TAKE OVER THE WAY "WE" HAVE TODAY --- AND YOU CAN TAKE THAT TO THE BANK !!!
"ReLiGiOn" has run amuck and men perceive it not --- the sickening thing is that men today haven't got "THE BACKBONE" OF THE FOUNDING FATHERS ... their shallow theology is just that, it's "SHALLOW" and it has "Man Made Doctrine" written all over it.
IF "WE" WILL NOT STAND TOGETHER FOR THAT WHICH IS GOOD AND TRUE THEN "WE" ARE DESTINED TO FAIL.
THERE IS BUT ONE WAY ... GOD'S ABSOLUTES ARE THE ANSWER ("IN" CHRIST ALONE) !!!
For the real Christian, I don't this is an issue to deliberate on; it's just like trying to reason whether there is heat in hell or not. Any "Christian" who has some consideration for the defence of sin is on the wrong track, and is leading others on this track as well. The Bible gives no excuse for sin--it teaches forgiveness, but it doesn't foster even the "mildest" sin in any way. God gives no excuse for sin; and the Christian who is truly redeemed to Him would stand on the same grounds with Him. Any church-goer who defends gayism should ask himself on question: "Am I satnding on God's side in this?" And if his answer is yes, then he knows nothing about God except the spelling of His Name. O Lord, please save us. Amen.
