Tens of thousands of parents could be subject to criminal sanctions after a California appeals court ruled parents do not have a constitutional right to homeschool their children.
"Are you kidding me?" said Kevin McCullough, conservative radio talk show host, on Thursday.
The court ruled last week that minor children must attend a public school unless the child attends a private school or is taught by a teacher with a valid state teaching license. And religious convictions of families do not guarantee a right to homeschool their children.
Parents must have teaching credentials to educate their kids at home....
To clarify my last comment. The truth has been expounded upon and to the People of California, and yet they seem intent on debating the issue of Government control over their lives in areas that ONLY God the Father should rule.I have before and will again say that these Judges have committed a CRIME in overstepping their judicial bounds and violating established Law.These are the Marxist regime thinkers , and they can and should be prosecuted for their crimes with "Criminal Complaints" filed against them, which is LAWFUL and legal. If you broke the law in such a serious way , you indeed would go to Prison for at least TEN years. Does not the Law apply to those who apply and interpret the Law. Therefore they Must BE Doers of the law and not just "speakers" of the law and be held Accountable!! Truth must be spoken however it be taken...?? Is that so? Why then when the truth is elevated to the minds of the people, it vanishes from ANY forum?The truth is not welcome anywhere in secular or christian circles of public attention or perusal.

Both you and Kenny have taken my comment out of context. I did not say that parents do not have a responsibility and neither of you know or understand the circumstances involved with the children mentioned in my comment.
It is only when home-schooling becomes some sort of cult that it becomes a threat to the children.
My English compposition teacher in my freshman year of college often condemned institutionalized education, calling it "assembly- line" education, because it tended to produce cookie-cutter kids with similar imaginations, expectations, and dreams...which trends he could see from their writings. One wonders if he had more home- schooled kids in his classes that he'd have gotten more originality and creativity from their assignments, given the many backgrounds from which they come.

I have known hundreds (thousands?) of homeschooled kids through the years. None of them are as isolated as you describe. Some are more social than others but all of them interact with lots of people. Most are exposed to a variety of people and age groups every day of their lives because they are not stifled in a classroom full of the same people day after day, year after year. They are out and about with their families and friends learning how to live life and do things.
If I understand DSY correctly, these kids would be better off warehoused all day in a room full of others their same age with similar backgrounds, drugged into submission with Ritalin and indoctrinated in Godless humanism. After they make it past the metal detector at the front door they can be taught that they evolved from apes and that sodomy is normal, acceptable behavior. Premarital sex is inevitable, kid, so here's some condoms. NO THANKS.

There is pros and cons regarding the practice of home schooling. I know a family that practices this and yet the children have NO interaction with other children and little with adults.
When they are pushed into this wicked world, what will happen to them?? Just a thought and a real concern for these young people and their parents.
It would be good if we as parents could protect our children forever; however, we cannot and they must learn to make their own decisions at some point... We cannot keep them in a bubble.

Yeah. This was all over our local news last night.
Trying to enforce this is going to further strain California's already strained resources--especially when one considers the colossal number of kids that are now home-schooled.
I know were supposed to pray for our government but it's getting harder to do so as they become increasingly contemptible.
