Pope calls for continuous prayer to rid priesthood of paedophilia
Pope Benedict XVI has instructed Roman Catholics to pray ‚Äúin perpetuity‚ÄĚ to cleanse the Church of paedophile clergy. All dioceses, parishes, monasteries, convents and seminaries will be expected to organise continuous daily prayers to express penitence and to purify the clergy.

Vatican officials said that every parish or institution should designate a person or group each day to conduct continuous prayers for the Church to rid itself of the scandal of sexual abuse by clergy. Alternatively, churches in the same diocese could share the duty. Prayer would take place in one parish for 24 hours, then move to another. ...

These types of lies are fashioned on the anvil and foundry at the Jesuit Counter Reformation Rumor mill. If enough people repeat the lie, it becomes more believable. The same is done for Calvin and Knox.

There is rumour that comes up once in a while that Luther said that, but can you provide any verifiable or authoritative source that can be trusted? Luther is famous for God led him to stand against the despotic Church of Rome and for the truth of the Bible that salvation is by faith alone. He did so at a time in history when any who spoke against Rome could be arrested by the inquisition and burned at the stake. Millions have since come to Christ through that Biblical doctrine. I'm sure Luther is in heaven even if he did commit some sins. His salvation did not depend on himself but on what Christ did for him. None are perfect

No, but neither is your fallacious argument. Also, are there no "apparitions" in the RCC?

The above speaks of the Scriptures for OT. ="Hold the traditions you have been taught"
And for the NT= whether by word or our epistle."
Why would God want you to hold on to anything of MEN, when He tells you to die.
Did He not tell the other MEN to die to self also?

'But as many as received [gr.-lambano-of a teacher, to receive, acknowledge, embrace] Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe[gr. pisteuo-have faith in, trust] on His name' John 1:12.
You cannot receive Christ until you have acknowledged your sins, and repented of them-Matt. 4:17, Luke 13:3. Then you must be born again-[John 3:3]; John 1:13-'who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God'. After this, the born again Christian needs a daily washing of the feet[John 13]. This is the message of salvation according to God's infallible word.

I guess Mike Gendron's main concern in his article is this one: "A Catholic is saved until a mortal sin is committed. Those who die in a state of mortal sin descend into hell (1035)."

Mr Gendron believes he has been given permission (through an apparition on his bedroom ceiling, he tells us elsewhere) to commit all the mortal sins he likes, and that he's still guaranteed entry into heaven.

Is that Christianity?

Even if Jesus did institue apostlic success HE DID NOT CALL PETER HOLY FATHER! Do you happen to know whom Jesus Christ called Holy Father? If you do it ought to sicken your heart to hear anyone to call a man on this earth Holy Father.

But that is exactly what your religion does

GG, your comment concerning the rcc, it is 'paying through the nose'. Is it the monetary aspect that troubles you? What about the young boys who have been scarred, not only by the false teachings spewed out, but the horrific acts committed against them? I see no sign of remorse, no godly sorrow. It's more of an 'oops, we got caught' mentality than one of 'we have sinned against the Most High God'. Godly sorrow produces repentance, read 2 Cor. 7:9-11. This will surely cause the price of purgatory to skyrocket.

These priests were shuffled from parish to parish until it became so widespread that they could no longer hide it. Still, the proper church discipline was not handed out, the RCC did NOT discipline according to the word of God, but covered over it until it could no longer be concealed.
Why is it you only post on issues concerning your religion? Christ said His followers must deny self, pick up our cross and follow Him daily. To deny self means to see others as better than you, reach out to the lost with the gospel message no matter the cost, and be willing to die for Christ. Does this describe you GG? If you cared about others overall, you would post on other topics as well, using God's word to encourage, rebuke, correct, teach, train; however the Spirit leads. You're ONLY concern seems to be your precious RCC doctrine, which by and large opposes the authoritative word of God, your lack of church discipline proves such.

I don't dispute that the Keys belong to Jesus, what I'm saying is that Jesus gave them to Peter(and his sucessors) to use on earth, not in heaven, until Jesus returns.

Kevin & Lyn: The problem was that the Bishops didn't discipline the wayward clergy, then the scandal hit the fan. The Church is paying thru the nose and some priest have gone to jail and others have been de-frocked. But, remember...there is still such a thing as 'False Witness', so the innocent Priest's rights must also be protected (Remeber:"Innocent till proven Guilty"). But, the guilty can go under the Jail for all I care. There is no credible proof to believe that any prior or current Pope was ever involved, otherwise, you harpies would sing it from the house tops.

Kevin and lyn have already shown the correct interpretation of who the "Rock" is, in regards Isaiah 22:20-22, you need to read Revelation 3 to see who this is talking about. Its not Peter.

Lyn asks the question to GG, "Why is it you 'defend' this rock, yet you do not discipline your homosexual priests?"

Could their "rock" be that "rock" that is wrote in the Song of Moses,[NOTE THE DIFFERENCE IN THE CAPITAL R AND SMALL R]

Deu 32:15 But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.

Deu 32:16 They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger.

Deu 32:17 They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.

Deu 32:18 Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.

Deu 32:30 How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up?

Deu 32:31 For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.

Deu 32:32 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter:

Deu 32:33 Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps.

GG, So the church is built upon Peter, a man who denied Christ three times?! Again, scripture is twisted so that it may 'fit' rcc dogma. This rock is not a reference to Peter, or Christ would have addressed him directly. It is the boldness with which Peter proclaimed who Christ was, this is how the church will be built,[by proclaiming who Christ is!!] the role of primacy is reserved for Christ ALONE. "Get behind thee Satan!" Matt. 16:23. Christ reprimands Peter for his interference with the Sovereign God's plan. If the 'church' were based on sinful men, then Christ's work on the cross was for nothing. Peter was a mighty man of God, nonetheless, he was still a man, flesh and blood, who sinned like everybody else. Why is it you 'defend' this rock, yet you do not discipline your homosexual priests? You pick and choose which scripture you want to obey, and which you want to ignore!! "For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all" James 2:10

to lance and gg; if you belong to the 'true church' then why does your 'church' disregard God's word? Homosexual priests should be disciplined according to the very words of Jesus Christ [Matt. 18:15-18]. Paul teaches extensively on this issue in 1 Cor. chapter 5. Anyone caught up in such grievous sin certainly has no right to partake in the Lord's supper[1 Cor. 11:27-32]. Thomas Watson describes the RCC best, "Instead of having tears to lament it, they use arguments to defend it". God Almighty promises this for disobedience, "He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ"-2 Thess. 1:8. You boast of your traditions, which resembles the scribes and Pharisees; yet your hearts remain indifferent to God's authoritative word.

You're still referring to that nonsense, Jim. As I said before, it's based on Cornwell's book, Hilter's Pope, and since publishing the book, Cornwell has withdrawn most of what he wrote.
Still, if you feel a need to deceive yourself with it, who am I to stop you?
And R. K. Borill, it is no secret that Christ instituted the Eucharist (that is, the Mass) at the Last Supper.
Everybody knew it for 1500 years, until some misguided people decided they didn't have enough faith to believe it any more.
The RCC Mass is not the same as that instituted by the Lord Jesus on the night he was betrayed. There is a multitude of differences; you should do some research. Perhaps Judas intituted the Mass before he hanged himself.
