Unable to win Senate confirmation, U.N. Ambassador John Bolton will step down when his temporary appointment expires within weeks, the White House said Monday.
Bolton's nomination has languished in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee for more than a year, blocked by Democrats and several Republicans. Sen. Lincoln Chafee, a moderate Republican who lost in the midterm elections Nov. 7 that swept Democrats to power in both houses of Congress, was adamantly opposed to Bolton.
Critics have questioned Bolton's brusque style and whether he could be an effective public servant who could help bring reform to the U.N.
President Bush, in a statement, said he was "deeply disappointed that a handful of United States senators prevented Ambassador Bolton from receiving the up or down vote he deserved in the Senate."...
"anonymous": Do you suppose that he is another Satanic-Vaticanist agent of "The Roman 'Catholic' Cult of Popish Jesuitic Vaticanism" ?
-or-
Is he actually a True Historic American Patriot and Nationalist like George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, U.S. Grant, James Garfield, Teddy Roosevelt, Calvin Coolige or John F. Kennedy ?
After all, these former U.S. Presidents put The United States Constitution ABOVE The Foreign/Alien Satanic-Vaticanist "Canon-Law"; or The "Temporal" Political Powers of "The 'Pope'" in Rome !
I personally don't know much about U.N. Ambassador John Bolton; apart from what the major "liberal" press/media say about him: that he is "controversial".
Heck, The U.N. and the "liberal" press/media are Highly Controversial themselves !
Bolton, had a bad reputation on how he treated his staff. I don't know if that improved when he was an UN ambassador or not? This probably soured some Senators in confirming him. This is the Israeli take on him (and they did like him.)
Bolton's problem is two-fold: 1-The Dems won and they aren't taking prisoners. 2-He is Bush's UN Ambassador. When Nancy Posttoasties becomes queen maybe Michael Moore will serve in his place.
The only "bad" thing I've ever heard about this guy is that he's "tough". One would think that a tough guy would be quite the asset in most jobs that require diplomacy & negotiation.
George S. Patton Jr. proved that one can be extremely contentious yet still be an excellent commander--and this guy (Bolton) doesn't sound THAT contentious.
