A warm welcome awaits you at our Annual Bible Conference. The guest speaker is Dr. Ron Johnstone, Minister of Newtownards Free Presbyterian Church and former Moderator of our Presbytery. Dr. Johnstone will be speaking on “The Garments of the High Priest.” He will illustrate his messages using a specially prepared model of what the High Priest would have looked like with his garments. As a gifted Bible Teacher, who has been richly blessed of God in such ministry, we believe his messages will be of great interest and benefit to all.The study of the High Priest’s garments is important primarily because the pattern of these garments was given by God. They are termed ‘Holy garments’ and also ‘garments for glory and beauty’ (Exodus 28). Three chapters in the Bible are devoted to describing the elaborate clothing worn by the high priest on official occasions. The purpose of Aaron’s special clothing was that he would be set apart for the distinctive function of ministering as God’s chosen high priest and to represent the people of God. The Lord Jesus Christ, as our great High Priest, serves as our Representative before God, in His finished work on the cross and in His ongoing heavenly intercession. Every detail of the High Priest’s garments sets forth the holiness, glory and beauty of Christ’s Person and work.
