Great Sermon! In 2 Cor 5:20 “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God”.
If a U.S. ambassador was making claims in the name of the President of which the President never said. What would happen? It would create diplomatic problems for the President, and the ambassador would be removed. An ambassador has a level of fear in the position they are in, and they ensure anything said by them is coming from the mouth of the President.
If that is how it is in human terms, how much more so with the LORD of Lords? But these “Christians” feel free to make claims of “thus says the LORD” while evidencing no fear of God.
God says “Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence” (Jer 5:22)
“There is no fear of God before their eyes.” (Rom 3:18; Ps 36:1)
“Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!” (Ez 13:3)
“Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that use their tongues, and say, He saith.” (Jer 23:31)
“They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.” (Titus 1:16)
“from such turn away.” (2 Tim 3:5) |
