Let's not be too gullible to believe all that is thrown our way. Great measures have been taken to deceive people into believing all is right with the world. To those who deny the end time prophesies, and want to hang on to this world, may God help you.

JD:
What do you do with Matt. 4:17, Luke 13:3, Jer.25:5, Acts 17:30, Acts 3:19, just to mention a few? Do we toss these out? What about the ministry of John the baptist? How can you be born again and still cling to cherished sin? You fail to preach the whole counsel of God.

The most important thing is that someone repented and was born again, there is no 'magic formula'. And besides, we have nothing to do with it, the Holy Spirit is the one who convicts the sinful heart, using the sword to break through the calloused heart. It is quite obvious this senseless c. vs a. argument will produce no winner. What it is producing is division, and a huge waste of precious time. It isn't a matter of rightly dividing the truth when others insist on thrusting opinion forward; what we should all be able to agree on is the need for repentance leading to Christ. The heart is prepared for Christ when it is broken over its condition of sin. Let's continue to proclaim God's truth, and quit picking fights amongst ourselves. Satan is having a field day, and many are falling into his snare.

In our fast-paced, high-tech world, it's hard to imagine the impression this miracle would have had on the people. Fix your mind on the simplicity of biblical times, this would have been an awe-inspiring, jaw dropping thing to see. The emphasis is on the miracle Christ performed, His first of many to come. It's hard to imagine God serving up alcohol to the folks at the feast!

There is a very informative article entitled 'From Vulgate to Vulgar, the story of our English Bible' to be found at www.answersingenesis.org/articles/am/v2/n4/vulgate-to-vulgar
It is quite an eye-opener.

There is no evidence that Jesus ever used these books, nor the disciples, nor that the Jewish leadership and congregation ever did. On the contrary, there is ample evidence that they didn't. So why does the RCC?
The answer becomes obvious when we learn the traditions of the Roman Catholic Church which stand or fall by these Apocrypha writings alone. Their inclusion has nothing to do with historicity or truth, nor with evidence derived from higher learning or the careful study of the pertinent facts. It has everything to do with the will of men in justifying their 'Church traditions.' If they were God inspired text, they would have been among the Hebrew texts used by God's Chosen People. To the Jews were committed the oracles [logion] or Word of God, and it was this inspired text which was preserved by them. So again, if these apocrypha books were God inspired text, they would have been in the Hebrew texts used by God's Chosen People. The very fact that history reveals that they were not, and are not to this very day, bears stark testimony that they were not inspired writings for Israel or the Disciples.
