Even worse, Stephen has just learned/realized that the Saviour he spent his entire life hating, despising, and foolishly arguing that He didn't exist actually loved Stephen with an unmerited, unconditional, and sacrificial love that He allowed to sun to shine upon Stephen and the rain to fall upon him (and gave him breath and life). And for all the intelligence that the LORD gifted Stephen so that he would honor and show some gratitude to the LORD, he pridefully refused to humble himself and acknowledge that fact...let alone how offensive Stephen's rejection of God's atoning work for his soul by God pouring out his righteous wrath on his son, Jesus Christ, as a substitute rather then on punishing Stephen since God, who is the judge of all the earth, always judges rightly. That my dear brothers and sisters in Christ is why I hate it when I sin and why I love and enjoy the LORD more and more because he shed his blood atoning for my soul (and all of yours). Now it is my honor and pleasure to serve the immortal, invisible, and possessor of all authority, the King of Glory, Jesus Christ. All hail the power of Jesus Christ for his kingdom will have no end!
