Always the optimist John?The thief on the cross was given a unique witness at that express moment in time and in his life.
Whereas Hitchens and Dawkins "witness" is essentially that of enmity with God in a very public way. That is the 'opposite' path is declared by their words and beliefs.
If we preach the posibility is open to all, (maybe), - then we sail a wee bit too close to universalism.
Our witness life provided by the Lord should positively contain both 'options' and 'probabilities' to carry the whole counsel of God, but continue in "Love thy neighbour."
It is obviously an honest witness to tell all people of both possibilities, because Scripture teaches both.
