Willie Frazer, Advocate for the "real victims" of the Troubles puts this tragic event in its' proper perspective in his most recent commentary of March 9, 2009, entitled, ]]Sinn Fein must give names to Police'

God's Word in Jeremiah 22:15-16 reveals the singular origin of Northern Ireland's ongoing troubles . . the elevation of terrorists to government:

"Shalt thou reign, because thou closest thyself in cedar? did not thy father eat and drink, and do judgment and justice, and then it was well with him?

He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well with him: was not this to know me? saith the LORD.

Leviticus: 18:22:
"Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination."

Leviticus 18:24-25:
"Defile not ye yoursselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:

And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants."

Thoses "Christians" who speak thus, do "err not knowing the Scriptures".

HEAR the Word of the LORD . . .the final WORD:

"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." II Cor. 5:21

"For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;"
Hebrews 7:26

". . . because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:"
1 Peter 2:21b-22

The Truth is . .
Mr. Paisley and others in his camp may seek to justify this sordid business by calling it “equality legislation” but every discerning Christian knows this is nothing more than state-sponsored sin, a denial of the unchanging Word of God that calls such sin an abomination and an embracing of the lie that has been promoted, fostered and promulgated by the "politically correct" speech of those of a worldly spirit that homosexuality is simply another sexual orientation. God is not mocked!

Not the speech of the Christian . . . .
“the Office of the First Minister and the Deputy First Minister is totally committed to promoting equality and human rights and completely opposed to any form of discrimination or harassment against any citizen, and so are all in their Office.”

“Leaving the Word of God to Serve Paralimentary Tables” an article by Martyn McGeown
]]http://www.cprf.co.uk/articles/leavingtheWord.htm ..
plainly shows in the light of Scripture the conflict inherent in Paisley's lifetime pursuit of two occupations . . preacher & politician, whose interests represent a contrast as striking as night and day, and why his trumpet makes an uncertain sound!

A Gospel Minister cannot represent two distinct kingdoms that are at variance with one another. The kingdoms of this world are the enemies of God and His Christ. Psalm 2; James 4:4; 1 John 2:15-17, & are working at cross-purposes with those of the Kingdom of God. “Political correct speech” is not the speech of the Christian. Those whom God by His grace has called out of the world & “translated into the kingdom of His dear Son.” Col. 1:13 now have the “mind of Christ” 1 Cor. 2:16 & our conversation is in heaven. Phil.3:20 The nations of the world at the moment seem to agree that sodomites are entitled to certain privileges, including government subsidies in order to parade their sinful lifestyle down main street.
For a man of God to put himself in such a position where he must speak for the world that promotes such sin is to pervert and oppose the Truth. This does irreparable damage to his witness for Christ and his credibility as a Minister of the Word. A Christian cannot presume to represent the interests of a special class of sinners, i.e.,and simply casually dismiss this stark incongruity w/his Christian testimony by stating he was speaking as a politician then.

A Christian is obliged at all times to speak for Christ; stand up for Christ; defend the honour of Christ; uphold the law of God . . His Word and thus advance the interests of Christ's Kingdom and His Cause, and not arbitrarily, when it is convenient. “Political correct speech” is not the business of the Lord's Servant to either defend or uphold.

Simply stated a man of God cannot also be a man of the people . . a politician, for that would be attempting to serve God and mammon concurrently, and the Scriptures point out the conflict in attempting to do so in Matt. 6:24.
Elijah did not halt between two opinions nor should we. (1 Kings 18:21) One cannot simply put on the mantle of a politician at whim and caprice and exchange it for the mantle of the prophet as you would a change of dress.

Neither can the message be altered to suit your audience, and then expect to be regarded as a CREDIBLE spokesman for God's unalterable WORD of Truth.
You might say it was the ]]"HIGH price Paisley paid to cut the deal"

From those who are called to be standard bearers for Christ, his preachers, we expect “plainness of speech” both in an out of season! (II Tim. 4:2)

Another perspective . . . . from a Servant of the Lord

Perhaps NOW, in light of the current global financial meltdown, the sobering observations and solemn warnings of Ivan Foster, recently retired Gospel Minister of Kilskeery FPC, in his commentary on Revelation 18:15-17. written on May 1, 2008 entitled:
]]'The Cry of the Merchants'

can be both understood and appreciated by a wider audience.

Romans 13 is right:
Commentary / Romans 13:3, prime author, PAISLEY, adopted by the FPC, and one from which they have not departed from as a denomination.
]]Power-sharing with murderers - right or wrong?
by I. Foster, FPC Gospel Minister:

“On May 20th, 1998, the General Presbytery of the Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster was associated with an advert in the local press, calling on all to say NO" in the referendum on the Good Friday Agreement. It was signed by most if not all of the then ministers of the Free Presbyterian church.

Another part of that 1998 advert reads: “We the undersigned, having professed faith in Christ as our Lord and Saviour and bound in conscience by the infallibility of the Word of God, declare the truth that governments have divinely been given the power of the sword for the punishment of evil doers, and the power of protection for the praise of them that do well.

The Agreement flies in the face of Holy Scripture and punishes those that do well and praises those that are evil doers.

We protest against this outrage.”
‘For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same."

It is perhaps advisable to consider Paisley's latest comment in response to a remark made by his son, Ian Jr. regarding homosexuals last year, one which he made in July / August 2007 during his tenure as First Minister of N.I. He was pretty defiant then too!

“the Office of the First Minister and the Deputy First Minister is totally committed to promoting equality and human rights and completely opposed to any form of discrimination or harassment against any citizen, and so are all in their Office.”

Ah, but then he was required by his pledge of office to speak as a civil servant and was obliged to uphold the law (s) of the land, and that included funding for gay parades, as well as insuring their free speech, however blasphemous and Christ-dishonouring that might be.

One cannot speak as a representative of all the people on one hand (as a politician)and as a representative for Christ and His church on the other, and expect to be taken seriously.

A little history said “The ? arises . . why now . .”

Yes why NOW?

What took the FPC denomination so long (a year + 6 months) to react and express their outrage and vocalize their collective PROTEST, speaking with one voice, i.e., as a witness for Christ, in the face of this Christ-dishonouring, insulting and blasphemous sign / placard defiantly flaunted by one of the marchers in this spectacle of ungodliness called the“gay parade”.

Let's not overlook the obvious.

Could it be they have NOW reaped the bitter harvest of their collective silence as they look out upon the NOW empty pews of their respective flocks once occupied by those who have since left their denomination in disillusionment over their failure to stand up for Jesus THEN?

Why was not the voice of every FPC minister of the Gospel heard in opposition to the insult paid Christ by this parade with that of Ivan Foster's THEN?

The article on which we are commenting is entitled “Free Presbyterian ad caused 'serious offence'”, but the fact is that many FP's were “seriously offended” by the SILENCE of her ministers THEN, and have left in PROTEST!

Sadly, as Gospel Minister Ivan Foster, former pastor of Kilskeery FPC has pointed out in his article entitled: ]]http://www.ivanfoster.net/pdf/truthsodomitefunding.. 'The truth concerning funding of sodomites through the office of the First Minister finally revealed', those who hold positions of the highest authority in the FPC have not consistently upheld biblical truth in the matter of sodomy. "Politically correct speech" has no place in Christ's church. Christ is our King, His Word alone is to have the rule over His people!

In this the Christian witness of the FPC church has been greatly compromised and their “trumpet is found to make an uncertain sound.”

“Because man is a sacred element of secular life,” Stafford remarked, “man should not be held to a supreme power of state, and a person’s life cannot ultimately be controlled by government.”

Neither are we to be governed by false RELIGIOUS teachers / prophets who "peep and mutter",(Is. 8:19) who come with another gospel (Gal. 1:6-8)whose spirit is of the world and not Christ,(Col. 2:8; whose doctrines are of "devils",(1 Tim.4:1-3); whose teachings are antithetical to the Truth of the Scriptures, and whose traditions make of "none effect" the commandment of God,(Matt. 15:6; but rather . .

". . . We ought to obey God, rather than MEN." Acts 5:29b

"To the law and to the testimony; if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." (Is. 8:20)

I too, along with others here, would highly commend to your reading the thoughtful scrutiny of U.S. president-elect Barack Obama given in the light of Scriptures by Shaun Willcock, a faithful Servant of the Lord, whose ministry is marked by "sound doctrine"(Titus 1:9)! Sadly, as others have said, God reveals in His Word that sometimes He elevates ungodly men to power in judgment of a nation!

An exclusive way of salvation through the Son, ordained of God and revealed in the Scriptures. That is the sole message mandated by Christ, the Head of the Church of Jesus Christ which He has commanded his servants to bring to the world:

"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be dammed." Mark 16:15-16

We are not called to enter into dialogue, but to witness to the Truth, the Truth as it is in Jesus.

Christ's prayer for UNITY in the TRUTH should likewise be the prayer of His Church.

"Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me." John 17:20-23

It looks like the "kings of the earth" (Ps. 2:2) are at it again . . trying to build a tower of Babel. Nothing new under the sun. God will confound them once more, and this time, with finality!

A word in season for those who are weary of these things. (Is. 50:4)

"And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Here is the patience of the saints: here are the they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus."
God's Word . . the final word . . as found in Rev. 14: 9-12

"But the LORD is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him."
God's Word . . the final word . . as found in Habakkuk 2:20

The analysis / explanation Nathan from Australia gives in his post to the cozy Catholic / Muslim relations seems the most plausible.

Nathan from Australia said:
"The other question is why would you send your precious children to one."

Yes why? I lovingly posed the same question to my R.C. family members when I sought to share the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ with them recently. I asked them, in light of the ONGOING clergy sex abuse scandal how they could in good conscience, place their children or their grandchildren in a R.C. institution? For to do so is to engage in reckless endangerment and be found an accomplice to child abuse. If any doubt what I say, visit these websites:
]]Survivor's Network of Those Abused by Priests
]]Abuse Tracker

To this they took offence ? ? To which I said: "Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?" Gal.4:16

"Then said he (Jesus) unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!

It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones." Luke 17:1-2

The same must be conceded of public schools, whose curriculum includes the advancement and promotion of a pro-homosexuality agenda as well.

Homeschooling!

enough already said:
"Here's a wonderful quote from John MacArthur, "It makes no difference if an unsaved person is for or against abortion, a political liberal or a conservative, a prostitute or a police officer, he will spend eternity apart from God unless he repents and believes the gospel. God has above all else called the church to bring sinful people to salvation through Jesus Christ."'

Thanks for sharing that timely admonition to the the Lord's people of John MacArthur's.

To that I give a resounding AMEN and AMEN!

Gospel Ministers are to preach CHRIST CRUCIFIED,(1 Cor. 1:23) as did the apostle Paul. Of them it was said they "turned the world upside down." (Acts 17:6)

Sadly, however, many today are of another spirit, even the spirit of the world, and use their pulpit as a political platform.

Tennyson Kpohraror wrote:

"It is very shameful that Evangelicals are now trying to rely on political clout in the fight against the evils of abortion, homosexualism/gay marriage, etc instead of relying solely on the plain old reliable power of the Word of God and the working of the Holy Ghost to restrain/humble ungodly hell-fire bound men and women. This is the fruit of the modern gospel of life-enhancement instead of the plain old gospel that warns sinners to flee the wrath of God that awaits all unrepentant men and woman. It is a pity indeed."

Amen brother! Sad to say, that amongst the many "false gospels" that are abroad today are those that seek to change the hearts of men and nations by a political agenda. No wonder then that they who embrace this message seek their deliverance from politicians, mere men from whose breath goeth forth from their nostrils. (Is. 2:22)

But oh ". . . How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace. . . " Romans 10:15a

Indeed, how can any true Christian vote for someone with such extreme views on abortion?
I share an excerpt of a letter sent to
]]Bible-Based Ministries,of So. Africa.

"I am a black woman); and the Lord converted me far later in life (age 35)
For me it can be a particularly lonely walk from the standpoint that many people do not understand that when it comes to standing firmly on the side of Christ verses going the way of cultural “traditions” (so to speak) – I have to roundly reject “tradition” if it contradicts God’s clear teaching. Let me give you an example. Here in the USA, I know many blacks who claim to be Christian but who are supporting Obama just because of his skin color. The expectation is – I should be supporting him, too. But as a Christian there is no way I can support this man who is pro-abortion, pro-sodomy;not to mention his socialist/communist leanings, etc., etc., and other problems. In fact, Obama stayed in a church that was preaching Liberation Theology. It caused a huge controversy because of ugly statements his “pastor” made. Obama only left this “church” (which is filled with heresy and lies) because of political expediency. Clearly,by his fruit he’s not a true Christian, though he claims to be.
