I watched the memorial on TV and it was grievious. From being saluted by a traffic cop as his casket was being shipped to the arena (did Jackson do one wit of anything for the military?) to when his casket was brought into the arena while the choir sang, "Soon and Very Soon". The fans cheered MJ and gave him the glory instead of the true King that song was about, namely, King Jesus Christ, our Messiah, of which MJ is not and never will be. My soul grieved more for those who intentionally choreographed this memorial to have MJ's casket brought out at that time. I couldn't help saying to God, So sorry that has happened, that the whole arena full of people cheered MJ and not You! I could hardly stomach the platitudes by everyone after that incident. It seems that MJ was far more to his fans than Jesus Christ; he was worshiped by them as their god.
Jim, as usual you povide us with good links. Boteach rubs me the wrong way most times, but he was on the money with his eulogy sans the RIP in the end.

My mourning for MJ has been that he did not know the only true God through Jesus Christ. But then I heard on the radio that MJ was visited by Paul and Jan Crouch and given the Gospel message. As one who heard the Gospel through a false teacher could it be possible that MJ did hear and receive the message of salvation through Christ alone? Only God knows if he did for He is truly gracious and merciful. If I were to make a judgement on this I would have to say, No, MJ died an unregenerate. MJ's good fruit came from a bad tree.
I've also heard that Rabbi Schmuley was his spiritual advisor. All the more reason for me to groan about MJ's spiritual state at death.

Is this not the David Wilkerson who preached against the false teaching of the Toronto Blessing only to go to a church in England and become "slain in the Spirit"? Has he repented of falling down in uncontrollable laughter?
What I seriously ask is this: is he a true man of God or a false teacher and prophet? I do need to know. I've seen many men of God fall away from the faith. They have started well but have ended up becoming false teachers and preachers. Is David Wilkerson one who has become false?

Obama claims to be the one who will speak up for the rights of women, minoties, the poor...
Then continues and expands abortion to destroy the rights of the women, minorities and the poor yet to be born.
He is duplicitous at best and a hypocrite at worst.
And, Nancy Pelosi spoke about this in such nice politically correct terms but it still came out to mean that the fewer children born the fewer people the govornment will be burdened with.

Govornment has become the American people's god. Are we still under God's judgement where repentance is possible or have gone head-long into His curse now?

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord...

The U.S. honors God with their lips but their hearts are far from Him.

Where was God, the only true God, at the Inaugaration?
God will not share His glory with the false gods.
Why do they praise God for Obama as President?
Surely God has given the people what they desired. Apart from repentance, the nation as a whole will not see that what they have asked for is the judgement of God to be turned into the curse of God on our nation.
I expect Obama to be a 2 termer...
The blindness is very great.
Cursed is the nation who forgets God

It was more about voting in a Black man for POTUS, an historical event, than to honor the only true God.
Did we not notice that God was out of the picture at the Inaugaration? Obama would not have it lest he should see his sins and repent.
Why Christians voted for Obama is beyond me, except that they say, Lord, Lord, but are none of His...
How many women, blacks, and homosexuals will be refused their rights before they are even born? Now that is what a true hate crime is.

So, now we know that 1 in 3 "Christians" are not Christians.
And the same goes for 40% of "Christians" who think themselves wiser than God and His Holy Word.

Every one of these so-called faith healers need to be licensed. Though I believe the gifts are for today, it is for the Gospel's sake before unbelievers and are rarely needed. Today's healings are for the sake of man instead of God. I would not trust it.

One commentor here says that this is O.K. so long as we do not bow to it and worship it. First of all, do we even know what Jesus looks like? No. This is a false image. Secondly, is our Savior thought of as we look upon this image made in chocolate? If so, then we have bowed down to it as we would and should the true Christ. Thirdly, is this to promote our faith in Christ, using it as a tool for the spread of the Gospel? If, so, then we have promoted a false Christ. If we so much as give thanks for all Christ has done for us by looking upon this edible image or any image, we are offering worship. This is no trite matter. How many complain about this chocolate "Jesus" yet have an image of the false Christ hanging in a frame on our walls? Or have statues and other "jesus" junk? If one can have those images then one need not be upset over this. They are all sacriligious. Anything that symbolizes our faith and causes us to praise God, apart from the Scriptures, is not right in God's sight. We still have golden calves among Christians that must be destroyed.

Ms. Furedi gives pregnant women goddess status. "You shall be like God". The mother is given credit for creating life and the power to destroy that life if not wanted. May God have mercy on her soul and draw her to Christ Jesus for salvation.

I must ask this. On what basis does the Arminian have to accuse the Calvinist of not evangelizing? Have the Arminian proof that a Calvinist becomes psychic and knows who is of God's elect? The Gospel is to be preached so that some may be saved. I just find this statement ridiculous and not based on any knowledge but on one's opinion of what they think is true of Calvinism. When searching on the debate between the two camps I found more mean-spirited comments coming from the Arminians. I was even told that I am an infidel! If that were true, then why was I searching to know the truth?

First thought that came to my mind upon reading the title of this article: Isaiah 3. I think of that every time our society lets the unregenerate influence what is truth. My husband works for the public school system. We get the bottom-of-the-birdcage magazine, NEA Today. We also get their insurance offers, one of which covers teachers specifically for student violence done against them. Yep, there's demented children in the public school system when it comes to this type of insurance being needed. And, we received that offer ten years ago. As per the need for Calvinists to repent for coming under the name of a man, O.K., but so also must the Arminians. I prefer the debate to be about election/free will. As for me, my confidence is not in a prayer I've prayed, nor in my choosing Christ Jesus, but in that God, the Father drew me to His Son. No matter the side of the debate, there is no salvation apart from obedience to God's Word. It is not about works for salvation, but because of it.

Is it depression or is it vexation? Depression may very well bring one closer to God. But being close to God may bring vexation. Depression without God is hopelessness. Vexation is grieving for those around us who are without Christ. Vexation means we see what is going on around us as a result of Godlessness. To be vexed is to be mournful but there is hope and it doesn't take our joy away. Someone told me that I was using my christianity as a crutch. I thanked her for that and told her that, since Christ, I have never walked straighter. He is the One to lean on.

No need to persuade those of us who do not celebrate the christianized pagan holidays of Christmas and Easter! It is to us an admixture that is not required in the scriptures. Communion is only required and is celebratory of Christ's life, death and resurrection. And, no, I don't wish for anyone to worship a god. I want everyone to know God, the only true God, and His Son, Jesus Christ, whom He sent. For in this is eternal life!

We have been in God's judgement for many, many years in the US. Instead of repentance, we have become more loathesome. Our final financial disaster is the last call, I fear. God destroys his enemies by allowing a nation's enemies to infiltrate the country and have their way. Only true repentance will do to stave off God's wrath against us. Nevertheless, this will be the time that Christians will shine brightest in the well deserved darkness. Beleivers need not fear. We can sleep well because God is awake and takes care of His own. He will guide us through if we listen and heed His wisdom.

Well, in the trash with my Ray Boltz tapes! He not only practices sodomy but he has been a practicer of deception. His wife of 33 years was decieved by him. He is deceived and will deceive others being deceived. He says he feels closer to God, but if he doesn't repent he will find out how far from God he truly is.

This doesn't sound good from the get-go. Prayers are answered with this money? Let's hope this won't be one of those prayers where they learn the lesson to be careful what you pray for.

Gimmick. It comes from a raffle. Now if this was a charitable act for the widows and poor then I would say it was godly.

I'm with you, hidemi. I'm an Independant and I only vote issues. The three that mean most to me are our national security, the stance on abortion and the candidate's attitude toward Israel. And I agree with Engineer, that there aren't any McCainites here at SA, at least none that I have found. This article, like others, are about the Dems and/or Obama.

I have a hard time thinking that true Christians will vote for someone who stands for legalized abortion. What breaks God's heart should break ours, too. Let's remember that there are other candidates outside of the Dem/Pub tickets. Let's remember that even who we vote for we will be held accountable to God for it. Let's have a good conscience before Him, for that is what will count at the end of the day.
