Your controversy seems to be primarily with monikers and aliases per se?

I respect that you are entitled to your opinion but the use of aliases is in accordance with the forum administration.

Junker Jorge and Martin Marprelate and many others had reasons for aliases in the past. With the very fabric of society being turned upside down and evil laws being passed everywhere, I am not convinced today is so different.

What was stated in my previous post are realities you or any other person may choose to ignore or deny, but it happens.
Never doubted that those things may happen. But not convinced that that covers all the motives for multiple monikers, and hence profoundly disagreed only with your conclusion "This practice is contrary to Christian character if walking in the light."

Many on here have posted way over 500 comments, and could equally be (unjustly) accused of hiding behind a single moniker in order to make their posting history unsearchable.

I switched to multiple monikers after reaching 492 posts in 2008. All my comments remain fully searchable and as you correctly noted "Writing styles, vocabulary and speech 'tones' identify them right away."

Some use an alternative moniker to say 'extra' things they do not wish to be identified by openly. Others use two monikers (personalities) in tandem when defending an argument, and others lurk in the dark to attack or deride a position by the same means.

Profoundly disagree with your conclusion.

The light should come from the biblical faithfulness and content of what is said in each and every individual comment.

Relying on some implicit measure of discussion board "reputation" involves putting trust in man and not the biblical witness.

Excellent posts GG. Others may not realize it but for the most part, imo, your last few posts were exquisitely biblical, evangelical and reformed. Being saved or born again is the hidden blowing of the Holy Spirit which is not tied to any particular time or event. It can happen at the moment of baptism, or profession, or anytime between, or before or even after. So in a sense RCs and contemporary Fundies are both right yet insofar as they insist rebirth is inseparably connected to any human act they are false. RCs must learn not to confuse the sign with the thing signified. Fundies must learn that true saving faith, the sole instrument of the covenant of grace, is to be distinguished from a profession of faith. An express verbal profession is 1 not an essential requirement to salvation, 2 not infalliable, ie, it may be false.
