According to the Elders of the SA forum, to be saved: you have to get your politics Right, never miss a holy day of obligation, I mean Lord's day service, espouse an IFB cultural pietism, and most importantly not be the first one to leave provocative and overbearing opinions for newly posted articles while having the gall to undergird your opinions by quoting Bible versions that don't speak the King's English while cherry picking out of context points from Johnny Mac sermons!
Both communism and Islam are antagonistic toward individual freedom. It's why communism always defaults toward morality given fallen nature of leaders prone to despotism and the imperative to align with the community or suffer the consequences.
Having recently served, I think the majority of tags are purchased third party and the real purpose is for casualty identification, given we most often use a Common Access Card for Mil ID. The sad thing is the DOD has been allowing buffoons to list their religion as "Flying Spaghetti Monster" in clear mockery of faith.
Dr. Tim wrote: Statistics can be slippery little rascals and difficult to prove or disprove, but here’s one I double-dog dare Jim or any other liberal to attempt to refute: The overwhelming majority of Democrats will vote time and time again for baby-butchering, sodomite-sustaining, America-hating scumbags who are not fit to tote slop to a hog. And whether they profess to be Christians or not makes not one whit of difference. They are no more Christian than their mentor, Mr. Iscariot.
Frank wrote: Fred, I thought my comment was pretty clear, but here it is again: I think that the majority of pastors and Christian professors are simply hirelings and like everyone else they work for the highest bidder and tow the line. Just remember, if I think something, then it is strictly my opinion, but if I didn't think I was correct, I wouldn't post it. I can't prove my position and of course you can't prove yours.
How about your own pastor, assuming you are under ones care?
From their website: Fairview Community Church is an open, welcoming, and affirming church in Costa Mesa, California. Locally, we are a church of the Southern California Nevada Conference of the UCC. Our regional affiliation lies with the Evergreen Association, a new region of the American Baptist Church.
John UK "Yes absolutely. If I had not got a firm grasp on the truth, I would never have been able to spot the errors of dispensationalism and premillennialism."
You distilled the issus on this one, if ones holds to wooden literal dispy theology, they are almost forced to adhere to the pre-trib agenda. There is no understanding of the people of God, Jew and Gentile together in Messiah. Neil did as well in response to Jim.
C'mon Fred, your were doing well in considering Scripture, but you had to go conflating seperate issues painting with a sloppy brush to malign those that believe otherwise. If you have basic understanding of historical theology, you would know that there are those from traditions on here that are both Sola Gratia and believe you can walk away from the truth.
Bottom line is the guy (Harris) is an apostate. Good day
John UK, Hear, hear, valid points you make via FB Meyer. I don't believe that the Lord would have believers struggle with a tortured consciience in regards to salvation or service unless there is ongoing backslidding.
My question was with those like Harris in the article or the reported case with the late Canadian evangelist Charles Templton that preached in large crusades and later turned from the faith claiming to be agnostic. I assume most on here would say he was never among the people of faith in Christ.
