Thank you, Wayne. It is appreciated. I'm not retiring from reading and recording, but until my health gets better, I have to take this break. I have tried in the past to take breaks, as the service of Our Lord does invite intense spiritual battles in many forms; ie, we get beat pretty good as a result of our service. But, as with mortification of the deeds of the body continues... the weaker we become physically. My wife and I were talking about this very thing this evening. Taking the assault on our bodies; plus having to deal with this wicked generation (that in and of itself is a very long series of sermons), it just makes it really hard to keep in the right spirit that is vital to proper ministry. I've not been the one given to work for work's sake if I'm troubled in my spirit. It makes it a job then rather than a joy. Too much attention is paid to the formalities of religion and the scope of our duty instead of why our message is so vital to our running a successful race, that we lose the essence of the Gospel message. We in effect, become Pharisees, of a sort. Thank you again for your words of encouragement, Wayne. May the Lord bless and preserve you and yours. DAL |
