This morning America woke up searching for its soul. The American Church is searching for its soul. How have we fallen so low? Why have we become so political while we knew that politics divides and Christ reconciles?
Political leaders have historically made strenuous efforts to court the support of Evangelical Christians. Trump offered the Evangelicals a Faustian bargain. In exchange for their support, he promised to give them political power. He asked the Christians to overlook his racist comments, abuse of women, extra-marital affairs and other things that are incompatible with the way of Jesus.
Yesterday’s violence shook the world! Could this happen in a ‘free country”? Could it be instigated or intensified by the church’s man? How many Evangelicals were a part of yesterday’s insurrection? We will never know.
Will things get worse under Biden’s leadership? Yes. The moral temperature of American society dropped under Obama’s leadership and will certainly continue to slide.
The hope of the world is Jesus, not politics. When Christianity is criminalized, we’ll be back to normal. Simply research the pages of history. Let’s get back to the way of compassion and forgiveness.

In 2016 there was a lot of riots and protests because the losers could not accept that they had lost. There was crying and legal action and we wondered why can they not accept the fact that this is part of the work of democracy. But now, sadly, the shoe is on the other foot. Can we swallow hard and find the grace to say, “God, everything you do is right”?

Where did Luther get his guidance? If he had read and believed the Bible he would have learned that he should not hate the Jews and the Anabaptists. However, on a positive note; he did translate the Bible into a language that the man on the street could understand. Albeit, he felt some parts of the scriptures were of lesser value and some worthless. Evidently he never read the verse that says, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable..."

They say the television's control is in our hand and we can turn it off whenever something offensive is presented. But we cannot accept this argument for two reasons;
1) When we are absent, our children may not be able to prove whether the content of a program is damaging,
2) We ourselves are corrupt by nature and lust after evil things. And therefore cannot always trust ourselves to turn it off when we know we should.

How shall I know where to go to the bathroom? How can I know whether I’m male or female? Can I trust what my parents told me? How did they know what to put on the birth certificate? Am I male in body but female in mind and soul? Or, how many genders are there to choose from?
I was born this way, but I’m confused! If I marry a woman they call me heterosexual, and if it’s a man I marry, I’m gay. If I want more than one wife, I’ll be labelled polygamist. Well, does it make a difference if I marry many women or many men? Am I polygamist either way? But then, is it alright if I then decide I would like to unite with some of each? Now too, what will I be labelled as if I marry my dog, or dogs? There are too many options! Wa-a-ay too many choices and not enough titles. What am I? LGBTIQ….U? (U – unknown or undecided)
I think I’ll go back to what is stated on my birth certificate. It feels right! God still makes them like he did in the beginning; male or female. By the grace (and for the glory) of God I am what I am.

Ro 8: 7,8 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

A goats cannot behave like a sheep. They couldn't if they tried! Don't expect the unconverted to have the values of those regenerated.
