How about using the Bible Michael H.
I did and you brushed it off.

Will you break my heart and do the same with this:
"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
John 13:34,35

You accuse me of sidetracking the issue; but Scripture doesn't because:

Jesus Himself saying
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
Matthew 22:37-40

In light of this reality it ought to be no surprise the Holy Spirit moved Paul to write:
But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. For some men, straying from these things, have turned aside to fruitless discussion, wanting to be teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions.

So, if you hate your brother...

No! You claim to follow Jesus
And I find in you a stunning absence of loving, kind words about Him.

In my words here you seem to speak much of the Sovereignty of God, and He completely and entirely sovereign but show IMHO little reverence or love, if at all, towards Him or often to those He died to save.

Tell you what watch/listen to these songs and consider just what kind of love and real truth you have or don't in your belief system [Hint: Jesus does say take the log out of your own eye first_my words here: or you might be jello]

Again you claim to follow Christ, well can you learn from His servants or not?
So I would you recommend listen to:

Five Steps to Genuine Revival

https://www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?SID=6723

And critique his sermon and inform all of us of how Biblical or not you see it.

We are not discussing revival, we are discussing your views that Christ died for all, and your statement that sinners refuse to obey, believe, etc.
Dearest Ladybug, as respectfully as I might; I am not trying to offend you. I am heartbroken for you. No! We are not actually "discussing" my views are we

You have just claimed to follow Christ. Is that correct? Did I read you clearly?

So, you would claim to believe Jesus? That He knows and tells us the Truth, right? And He is the One the Father sent to save sinners, right?

“‘“You will indeed hear but never understand, and you will indeed see but never perceive.”

[Why, Jesus?]

For this people's heart has grown dull, and with their ears they can barely hear, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and turn [repent], and I would heal them.’
Matthew 15:14,15

Ladybug you keep saying things like its 'because they are predestined to', 'because they are not of the elect' while Jesus Christ says its because their hearts have grown dull.

It's strange how you
Dear Ladybug
It is quite "strange" (your word) that your "beliefs" are so different from the late Dr. Ian Paisley's as expressed in:

Five Steps to Genuine Revival
by Dr. Ian Paisley
https://www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?SID=6723
Which is one of a much listened to and commented SA's must hear starters

Why is that?

BTW the whole context about 1 John 1:7 says,

5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

1 John 1:5-10

Maybe there hasn't been the fervency of Dr. Ian Paisley in our praying

Wow! what a creative come back to despise (if that is the correct word) the existence of Scriptures that answer "if Jesus bore the wrath of God for everyone (died and rose again for sinners), why does anyone go to Hell?"

And please don't get too upset with me because there are men who identify themselves as Calvinists and AVists who were famous for praying for lost sinners to come to believe the Gospel and be saved and know God for themselves

One of SA's must hear starters is:

You might want to read the comments
one of them says:
Our need for "Holy Ghost" preaching becomes evident in this message. We of the Reformed Faith are often in danger of becoming cold and indifferent. We need the power of prayer in our lives to see sinners saved. I thank God for the encouragement of Dr. Paisley who reminds us we are called to bring down the strong holds of satan. Let the church once again be militant in it's opposition to the evil of the day. May we "Consider our ways".

Now Michael, we've run into a theological issue

In answer to your prayer question

Conor7
Yes, indeed we've run into a theological issue

Did you notice you actually did not respond to the Scriptural validity of my answer to you?

Also did you notice you did not respond to the premise of my question on prayer and how prayer can be intimately interrelated to sinners being turned back to God _ which gets to the heart of things theological if you will. Is God really experientially knowable for any born again child of God, or only those of elite scholarship?

I think it is safe to say the Lord Jesus Christ spoke to us of a Father who is intimately and wonderfully knowable not as an "abstract" and complicated set of theological priniciples

Double jeopardy haven't you read of those who do not obey the Gospel?

Does not Scripture tell us: Nothing is impossible with God

I have another question, have you ever posted here using another moniker? If so, what was that moniker?
I'll answer the last question and then return to the topic of the question I asked.
Yes, Years ago I posted under "Pathfinder" until someone else used it

Then I used my real name until times and circumstances made it a choice to drop my broadcaster status

So recently it has been "Another Michael" as there are other Michaels who post

Back to my questions/comments on prayer:
Of the different things Jesus did on this earth have you ever considered:

He who knows True Theology, the Absolute Sovereignty of God, God's Almighty Power, His Faithfulness to watch over and fulfill His word, God's will, desires and ways, the Fear of the Lord in the best sense of the word, the Law of God, His Commandments, Promises and Warnings, the Reward of Heaven and the terror of the hell, people as they really are better than any of us; spent the major portion of His time Praying

IMHO if anyone wants to truly know the Sovereignty of God they must pray

Scripture, God Himself telling us:
My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.
1 John 2:1-6

All these things and so much more are in Scripture for those willing to hear God's voice

I was commenting on an issue here locally in the area I live in as a matter needing genuine church discipline

not being punished for one's "crime" is one thing

being restored to be welcomed and accepted to sit and eat at the King's table, whom one has offended is another thing entirely, needing much grace, mercy, wisdom, humility; a very real leading of the Holy Spirit

And when God accomplishes such a work; He brings the joy of the dead raised to life

The very next verse tells us, "JESUS heard that they had cast him out". HE takes a definite interest. But better, "and when HE had found him..."

Oh, JESUS went looking for him.

Brother John UK
Not to distract from the sadness and mourning for the passing of RC Sproul; and the joy of how everyone born again of the Spirit of God goes to be with Jesus Christ into the very presence of God at death

But circumstances here are bearing on a need from some genuine Church disciple _ An area of faith that IMHO has been both neglected resulting in the failure to restore many who have gone astray or gotten off into sin OR the other ditch of like the Diotrephes Syndrome abusing Church disciple to drive someone away so they never come back

IMHO God's reproofs and rebukes are designed and meant for the restoration of sinners and backsliders and we so need God's wisdom in these things [Who wants to be restored to people who hate you?] and of course who dares to nurse a wounded dog back to health who is trying to bite you.

God help us

I love what the man born blind now see said to the Jews on the second time they dragged him in for "questioning:"

"I have told you already, and you would not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you also want to become His disciples?
John 9:27

Well John it appears not being able to shut him up these pre-Diotrephes Jews just had to threw him out of "their" synagogue, but his fearful/cowardly(?) parents were still there, weren't they

Jesus heard they had cast him out, and having found him He said, "Do you believe in the Son of Man? He answered, "And who is He, Sir, that I may believe in Him? Jesus said to him, "You have seen Him, and it is He who is speaking to you." He said, "Lord, I believe," and he worshiped Him.
Jesus said, "For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind"

Amen! and Amen! Brother John

To be His disciple we must overcome the fear of man, especially religious Pharisees, and personally know/own the Fear of God. IMHO this is so important the Spirit moved Paul to write: If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ

One example of being sabotaged by the fear of being driven away by men is this:

The Jews did not believe that he had been blind and had received his sight, until they called the parents of the man who had received his sight and asked them, “Is this your son, who you say was born blind? How then does he now see?” His parents answered, “We know that this is our son and that he was born blind. But how he now sees we do not know, nor do we know who opened his eyes. Ask him; he is of age. He will speak for himself.” (His parents said these things because they feared the Jews, for the Jews had already agreed that if anyone should confess Jesus to be Christ, he was to be put out of the synagogue.) Therefore his parents said, “He is of age; ask him.”
John 9:18-24

The blind son now sees and worships Jesus

There is indeed a beautiful liberty in Christ for everyone genuinely born of the Spirit of God

Not a license to sin or to be lawless against God's Law, the Law of Love
But unimaginable Joy of personally knowing the Son of the Everlasting God and living as His servant; after all a servant is not above his master and it is enough for a disciple to become as his teacher
