I have to correct Bro Cooley about the southern phrase "bless your heart". Born and raised in Alabama I know what I speak of. Bless your heart can definitely be used condescendingly towards someone you disagree with. We are taught from a young age to be nice and polite even when we disagree. It is also used to show sympathy with someone going through a hard time. Most of the time, though, it is used condescendingly. Maybe just because someone like me leaves the house with mismatched shoes. "Well, bless her heart." That's my lesson in southern speak for the day. Keep on preaching truth Pastor!

Here's one of them: The second point shows how the earthly promises God fulfilled for Israel (relief, freedom, adoption, redemption) were promised with an eye to eternal blessings. Now, in the New Covenant, we have the reality of Jesus, so these earthly blessings are taken away. We expect hardship and persecution. We look for eternal blessings.

I never thought of this before: preaching of the gospel does not equal preaching of the word of God. Gospel preaching is a subset in the word of God. So, those sermons which are biblically sound but do not preach the gospel message do not open up the kingdom of heaven.

I am so thankful to hear someone talking about how conservative talk radio is NOT loving. I have a very hard time listening to it and trying to have a meek, quiet, or loving spirit. The rest of the message was great, too. Very important and convicting!
