“ Pulling Back the Curtain On Our Own Self Deceit ”
Man oh man, Henry does really does preach the true word of God in this sermon.
He does what other preachers are scared to do. He tells us how we are as human beings and it ain't pretty. He shows us in multiple examples how we don't even come close to honoring the two most important commandments. He shows us just how selfish, self centered, hateful, demeaning and insulting that we really are as human beings. He does what needs to be done. A righteous preacher, one who strives to preach the true word of God, will do exactly this. Because at the end of the day, even preachers have to stand before God and give answer to God.
We, as people, need to hear these words. If you are one who is seeking to become closer to God, to KNOW Him and believe in Him, you need to hear this sermon.
There is no one out there who doesn't need to hear it, no matter what they may think of themselves. |

“ The Mind of A True Believer ”
This sermon is not like other sermons by Henry. This one starts off with Henry relating a situation where he is going to visit a long time friend in the hospital and the friend doesn't know who he is.
Now, this friend is supposed to be saved and know God. But, he doesn't recognize a man of God. Strange.
Even in scripture, the sick, the crippled, the infirmed can and do recognize Christ when He comes close. It's the unsaved that don't know Him. Children of God will not lose that capabililty in this world. There is no place in scripture where it indicates that a saved person loses his memory or knowledge of Christ or God. Children of God, the Elect, the true Israel all know Christ and God.
What we fail to realize sometimes is that God has control over every single aspect of us as human beings. There is nothing that happens to us - NOTHING - that God doesn't have complete and total control over. A true believer will not lose the ability to know God, it just won't happen.
I realize that this was a good and dear friend of Henry's and he doesn't want to believe the worst where that friend is concerned, but at the end of the day as the evidence indicates, his friend really did not know God. Or he would have recognized a man of God. It doesn't get any more simple than that. |

“ How Are We Acceptable To God? ”
We think, so many of us do, that if we work hard enough, say all the right things and create a specific image that we will be acceptable to God. WRONG!
Henry explains in this sermon that God cannot accept ANY of us unless we ourselves accept Christ. Christ is the key to acceptance by God.
We are chosen before we are even born, by God, to be His elect. But, it is in His time that He calls us to Himself. We may be young. middleaged or old when He does call us, but it isn't us making the choice, not even close.
But, even as God's chosen, we are still sinners in the flesh and nothing that we can do will please God, it all has to come through Christ.
Most people think they understand salvation, but they really don't, not by the way they express themselves.
Henry did a good job here at explaining and laying out just how salvation really works. |
